Ideas of building my room in.

Hi everyone; I would like to build in the following room with highly soundproof insulation, highly soundproof sheetrock/wood, highly soundproof/thermal paint. Would anyone think it's possible to get 2 600W aeroponic systems set up in this room considering the following dimensions?

Entrypoint

A better view of looking in through the entrypoint.

See the entrypoint on the right. At the end of the ducting it's 4" high.

I'm about 4 ft kneeling down at the end of the AC ducting taking this picture.

Well please let me know what your suggestions are and what you think I have room to grow with and recommendations on building in the room to get it ready. Thanks for your time.

You could do it but i know that in my attic the temp deviates so much it is impossible to grow in it but if you had air and heat i dont why it you could not.

Sweet, after doing the math; I only have about 5x5x5-8ft area, which means I have plenty of room to do the dirty in there. I need to buy some plywood build around the AC Ducting, and put some Thermal/Soundproof:

Insulation
Flooring
Drywall/Wood
GreenGlue

I think I want to install another peice of plywood over th air duct to provide a table like structure. (Meaning when you open the hatch door to the attic/storage area, you will actually have to crawl underneath a table like structure that the plants will be on). How many plants could I fit in a 5x5 area? What sizes should I use? Two 600W's?

Nice looking place to build. You will have to use ac/heat but who cares! You could hide the door with something and no one will know it was there.. I would try to run the electric and the water first. If you think you might do hydro I would run a water line in there and a drain pipe. It would help up out a lot!!

Well thank you very much for that suggestion; i think I just might run me a line in there, and mount my RO 100GPD purifier in there. I get about 140 on the TDS meter in my tap water. Sometimes I get 0 on the RO Water. I have a slight dilema, i'm not sure at all how to run water lines in a house. My house is fairly new though, and they informed me that it is the new type of plubming, the plastic water supply lines instead of copper. Are you farmiliar with these? If so, is there any way that I could branch off an existing one already going to the sink?

Is it Pex? That is a newer type of water line they are using. I have not use it before but I hear it is easy to deal with. They sell it at lowes and home depot. You can look at it and talk to someone there and see how it works. Here is a link to lowes telling you about Pex. I have done some plumbing around my house and other homes and it is not bad so I would not think twice about working with the Pex. I just put a new hot water heater in my house Sun. so plumbing is not that hard if you take your time. I hope this helps.:joint:

Great; well everyone; I've been thinking obsessively about how to achieve the "perfect" built in room; I've completed Phase I, which is cleanup and the protected housing for the AC Ducting.

My plans are for the following:

Plumbing:
I've decided against running a water line in that room because I would need to also run a drain, and there's really no feasible way to get one in that works without some labor intensive work. Besides, I have an unused bathroom about 10ft away from the hatch I can get my RO water from.

Electric
I've decided to run a couple of heavy duty 12G extension cords from a wall socket about 15ft away on the other side of the attic. 60-120$

Insulation
I plan on replacing all of the insulation on the wall. I need around 150 rolled feet of 16" insulation. I need about 33ft of 24" insulation for the ceiling. I need the best money can buy, so i'm alotting 125$.

-Drywall
1) Buy 1 Roll of Lightite Diamond Diffusion Foil & install it with staple gun against installed insulation as to create an InfaRed thermal tight layer. 143.50$
2) Install 3/8 Inch standard/cheap drywall on 150-180ft of wall/ceiling with dryall screws. 75$
3) Purchase 5 4x8 Quietrock. 600$
4) Purchase 5Gal of GreenGlue & Pale Applicator from the green glue company and attach QuietRock to walls. $314.99
5) Use greenglue Noiseproofing sealant to seal edges of sheetrock. 85$
6) Paint QuietRock with solid white sound deadening/thermal paint=Reflective. 50$

60-120 Electrical Cords
125 Insulation
143.50 IR Layer
75 Drywall layer 1
600 QuietRock Drywall:
314.99 GreenGlue
85 GreenGlue Sealant:
50 Thermal/Soundeadening Paint
--------
1513.49$

(Just to build in the room Soundproof) It needs to be quiet b/c We'll be eating Thanksgiving Dinner 10ft underneath it. I did not include the cost for the flooring, and I need advice. But here are the updated pictures of completed Phase I (Probably one of the most difficult).

I custom fabricated the housing protecting the AC Ducting. I used 3/4" Birch Plywood cut with circular saw to correct measurements & screws in edgest/ends.

Well I'll definately keep you guys updated. Please keep recommendations coming. I need advice on flooring

You gonna try getting a veg/clone cab in there? If so you could run two tables and get a perpetual harvest on the go. Harvest once a month, if you had 2 ebb and flow tables with 16 8" pots on could get a pound a time. Al B Fucts thread is amazing for info on that stuff.

shit man you are doing one hell of a job in there. The flooring i would just use tile or you can go with Life deck, from the looks of what you already did i am kinda wondering what kind of advice are you looking for ?

I took a look at AL B Fucts thread, and everything seems pretty straight forward to me, but i'm really not too farmiliar with EBB&Flow; it looks like a simple flood/drain table, right? I really wanted to try aeroponics or bubbleponics, but i'll do whatevers easiest. I was planning on just keeping my White Widow mother that I am growing now under the 400W, and I am going to be taking clones from her; and she's gonna stay in her 5 gal bucket and might get put outside the last month and half of flowering. I wanted to do an AeroFlo2 36 Site. http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/aeroflo2-36plant-aeroponic-system-p-62.html

What do you think for a SOG? with a AeroFlo2 36 Site, and either a 600W or a 1000W bulb. Could I get pound per month from 36 clones with CO2?

Thanks man; I'm looking at life deck right now, and i'll be using it on the flooring. I've really been undecisive about a lot of things, and I can't talk to people around me about my recommendations, and i'm not a contractor, nor have I had any carpentry work. So i'm kind of hesitant to build in the room if it's not feasable. Every time i've wanted to do something; i've gotten positive feedback from all of you, and I'm very thankful. Sometimes I just need a little boost of self confidence that I can do it. So b/c we're eating Thanksgiving Dinner 10ft below the room, and watching movies 10ft away from the room on the same level, I decided I wanted to do a stealth room, so that I can have my family over and allow them to roam the house. The Hatch will be inconspicuously hidden behind a bookshelf or something. So i'll need recommendations on how to keep it 'stealth'. I guess I also need recommendations on a growing device. I included a link in the AeroFlo2 I want to use a SOG setup up above. http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/aeroflo2-36plant-aeroponic-system-p-62.html Good for a SOG?

Looks sweet bro Keep it up.
Thanks man, we're going to have fun. Thanks for your support.

Ebb and flow is just another name for flood and drain.

Aeroponics is just as good as FnD and possibly better yeilds.

That system looks wicked but damn expensive. It looks almost identical to stinkbuds system tho. Might be worth checking out.

Would you use two? Cos thats what i meant about pound a month. Get a 8-9 week strain and then have two tables of it at a months interval inbetween.

Yes, it is quite expensive, but i'm looking for simplicity here. I work a 9-5 job, and my time is most valuable to me after work, and I cannot afford to waste it. But I believe I could get two of those set up in that room. It would be really tight, but i'm thinking about separating those rooms and just keeping 1 1000W and just running it 24/7 and having it mechanically move every 12 hours to the other table. So i'll be able to bud two separate tables at the same time with 12/12 just by moving the lamp every 12 hours. I'll probably just buy one at first, and use the money from the first month's harvest to get another one.

Not a bad idea except could you guarantee light proofness?

I probably could not guarantee that half my crop would get 100% darkness while the other is getting light. But I think I could acheive a sufficient amount of darkness between tables. I'll just install one first and make my determinations at a later date when I have got a better feel for the amount of leftover space availible.

I think I could get about a pound per month off of 1 aeroflo2 table setup with a 600W or 1000W Bulb; I'm going to buy a nice reflector. What you think?

Urmm i think im missing something. Are you going to use half the table for one set of clones and then half the table for another set 4 weeks later? Cos otherwise not sure how you can harvest every month off of one table?

Well I plan on purchasing 1 36 Site AeroFlo2 at first, and putting a 600 or a 1000w HPS bulb as lighting. I currently have a mother plant growing to supply the clones. I plan on cutting clones from her every 30-40 days. I plan on setting up just 1 AeroFlo2 for now. I'll take 36 cuttings, and give them 2 weeks to root under a CFL or something, and 2-3 weeks of 12/12 HPS. That should put me at a month between harvests, correct?

So you take 36 cuttings that then take 2 weeks to root.

Then you put the 36 cuttings into your single 36 site aero unit. And then set that to flower. They will then be ready in 55-60 days (2 months)

30 - 40 days later you will have another 36 cuttings rooted ready to go into flower.

But where are you going to put them cos your other plants will still be flowering?

What is 2-3 weeks of 12/12 going to do to them?

Sorry im being dense here, dont understand where this is going >.<
