Aerogarden on Ebay

Okay so there was this guy on ebay selling aerogardens, seasons..international, and he would sell them in batches of 50's at a time, which kind of got me thinking, where were these coming from? I started thinking maybe he was a scam because people in his feedback were saying that they would come but were taking forever. it was back and forth between that and them coming really fast. weird. anyway, i ended up spending total 97 bucks. its been 3 weeks now and NO aerogarden. then he mysteriously gets banned or closes his account, whilst i still have an open auction with him, as well as about a hundred other people. Do you have any idea how much money that is?! Now im waiting for ebay to refund me.

In short, does anyone know where I can get one that's going to be a better price than buying it at a store, that isn't going to be a total joke. :finger:

Perhaps I should just buy it legit.

But i figure if i'm going to have to be hacking it apart, and buying all these lights etc. then, I probably want to spend as little on it as possible. i dunno what do you guys think?

Do you really wanna use the aerogarden for growing, I mean it does look easy to use but there are other questions that come into mind. There's a hydro shop I go to that sells them for about 90 bucks, but they don't ship out of state. I'm on my first hydro grow and decided to go with an ebb n flow system that I grabbed off ebay for 60 bucks and it's doing pretty good (other than the fact that I killed all but 1 clone).

The aero garden is a waste for ganja as its to small and would be able to support 1 plant and you have to remove the light and replace it with other lights. I sell 6 site aeroponic setups with everything but the light and seeds for $75.Aero gardens will run no less then $115 if they are new but are a waste of time.

yo asian katie. listen up. if you are a new grower then the aerogarden isnt a bad route for hydro nug. its an easy way to introduce and help visual learners gain knowledge on the different stages of how a plant grows and blossoms into a thing of beauty. i suggest if you dont know shit about growing then get the garden; it helped me greatly when i started. And by the way you dont need any expensive lights. the lights they give you with the aero work fine enough. the underneath of the hood where the lights plug in is all mirror like reflective materials that help the plants and you can grow up to 8 plants fully. so dont think you cant grow more than one. anyways the aero is fine enough. hit me up if you have any questions. hollla.

Hmmm Id like to see your 8 fully grown plants in this setup as the res chamber is way to small to support full grown adult nice plants root systems.A 20 gallon tub res fills to capacity with 6 plants pretty fast.

what if money doesn't matter...
what if you just wanna grow and smoke...
i get good nugs and minimal effort with common bagseed...
this is just a drop in the bucket (I.E.one branch of one plant of three) from my aerogarden plus some extras, it is possible!!!

you are right the res chamber that comes with the garden is way to small however what makes the garden so easy and simple is that it can be taken fully apart within seconds its as simple as going to a local store and pickin up a plastic trash bin thats bigger then that will likely fits right on top of the bottom of the aero. this acts as a way bigger chamber for the plants to grow. trust me dood. it works.

I'd like to see a pick of this. If you take the top off of the aerogarden the aerogarden pump doesn't work. I don't really understand what you are saying....

FilthyFletch, having done one grow with the aerogarden I'm about ready to order your system. I can't use it untill late October so I'd order it prolly around Oct. 15. Do I pm you to place the order? How do I pay?

Okay, your comments have all been very helpful.. Im not terribly worried about getting overwhelmed because I have been offered a lot of help from people on this site as a "hand to hold" as a walk through once i get my system whatever that may be. There is a hydro store not too far from my house so maybe i should go check that out.

Im not going to come right out and say im growing weed. but what would be a good things to say im growing that would need similar conditioning?

I want to grow about 2 or 3 plants? indica preferably so they'll stay relatively small..

what power-ish of lights would i need for something like that?

if not the aero-garden what do i need?

lights and a timer for those

some sort of system that has a reservoir for the water and holes for planting them in.

Nutrients which i have been told foxfarm is super legit

pH meter

and is that it??

potentially i would like a system that i could also grow ACTUAL herbs in as well. Believe it or not my pull to the aerogarden was that i actually wanted to grow cooking herbs as some point too.

i only use full spectrum cfl lights and a floro red spectrum tube for red light.
also an airstone for the aerogarden, ph meter at 6.7 - 6.9 a fan and diy co2
(water, sugar, yeast)

For the lights, those are the only ones you use through the whole procedure? what watt?

and why the red light?

full spectrum 125 watt eq cfl
and flowering plants need red spectrum light
the aerogarden hood lights are also full spectrum
vegging plants need mainly blue spectrum light, and flowering needs red spectrum!!!

Im trying to figure out what lights to buy too. If you have a small space is it just as good to get cfl's?

Tempelton27:

wtf. you know you can't sell plants and seeds to people who aren't prop 215... right? so you probably shouldn't be offering them to people on the INTERNET who you are unsure if are...

feel me on that?

hps is good but in a closed system they can be a real fire hazard!!! cfl's are cool to the touch don't require a ballast and use very little power
