Miracle Grow, is it worth it?

I have used mg through my whole grow,not had one problem with it.go to wal mart and buy some sphagnum peat moss and perlite,mix it 50/50,I LOVE IT!!!!Will be using it from now on

we should make some of the old threads on MG stickies. You can use MG moisture control and water with ph6.8 water. No nutes until after 4 weeks about time for flower go light and you will have great plants. i did a few grows to show MG can be used but I only reccomend the moisture control never the potting, organic, or peat mixes. I use it for all my mother plants as its excellent for vegging

i actually got a bad bag of MG MC last time (was soaked, the soil formed mildew/mold when opened 
), and cant find it at the local walmart/HD either now, had to switch to the MG OC, not bad, but i liked the MC better...
i mix it with 30% perlite and 15% vermiculite,and a dab of lime no veg nutes and ADVANCED nutrients for flowering, and get decent grows for the bag seed with either kind. for the money, i think its still the best, unless you fork out the big bucks for a better product

some people have claimed to have had infestations , here in south tex. this product cooks in trailors or on shelves , i've never seen any signs of pests , ....with all the hate and name calling i wish there was someting i coud say ...used responsibly go for it

I always buy my MG moisture control from inside. I never buy any soils if stored outside as your asking for trouble

yeah thats organic, but all organic means is that theres only natural products being used.. oyster shells mosses , all that stuff is still organic because its all natural.... chemicals are what make a grow non organic

MG soil is great for tomatoes and other garden foods. But mj is pretty much a weed, and doesn't require so much nutrient as is usually in MG soil. As some others have stated, overwatering is the biggest problem when growing cannabis in MG soil, releasing too much nutes/ferts at once, causing burning and stunting. I've also read many reports of MG soil being infected with fungus gnats (bad news). As it is so much safer, especially for a beginner to grow in cheap potting soil which has no nutes added, and just start adding light nutes/ferts after 3-5 weeks from seed, many experienced growers recommend that.
In spite of all the written information available on the internet, a novice grower is going to have to play a little by ear with the first plants they grow.
I have seen a few folks do some good grows in mg soil. But just to be on the safer side, I would recommend cheap, plain Hyponex potting soil (walmart), plain perlite, SM90 used per directions for pest prevention, and floranova nutes. With plain soil and plain perlite, the plants can be more forgiving of overwatering. Works well for me, and my thumb ain't exactly green...

What we feed it is given in much smaller increments, and not all at once as in MG soil. Also, the ratios of this ingredient to that ingredient are usually a little different.
idk all im sayin is i use mg moisture control soil mg nutes for veg and then two diff bloom nutes workin my way up to 1400ppm then a hydro nute and never really have a problem. i on average hit a oz per plant runnin on average 40 plants sog style wit only 2 600's just really dont see how other ppl have such bad luck wit mg

Those numbers are good. Perhaps you simply have a natural affinity for this. Some folks do.

this is an outdoor gdp grown in miracle grow mixed with perlite and the dirt allready there and i think its working out

After thinking about the actual question "Miracle Grow is it worth it?" I decide yeah $9 a bag for moisture control and the results it gives is way worth it. $9 bucks is cheap and you ll grow way more then that worth..I just dont use thier nutes to feed eeeww
