yeah bro, take care of the lizards, they will take care of you and be careful with the neem, make sure you put it in the times of weak sunlight and make sure you rinse off the residue after. that shit IS oil, if left on, it will burn your crops....my friends grow was ruined from neem oil..it was his fault though, didn't read instructions and didn't do his homework and research

Thanks for the advice bro, ive heard you can use it through about 4 weeks of flowering...and ive heard of people using it on buds...ill be super cautious when I do use it

Hey Zig, pardon the interruption, but I wanted to get confirmation on this neem oil thing. I've been using it throughout my entire grow. I only apply it in the evening, when the sun isn't on it. I've never noticed any residue - ever. Doesn't mean it's not there, I suppose.

Dr. Greenhorn, when are you suggesting we rinse off the neem oil? I don't recall seeing any mention of that in the instructions. This late into the growing season I'd hate to ruin my plant because I didn't rinse off what I thought was cool to spray on and leave it there. Is this rinsing approach fairly common knowledge? Also, what do you use to rinse it off? I'm pretty sure water and oil don't mix, so I'm not sure how effective water would be at removing an oil based substance. Thanks for any advice!

Yes I am curious too about this topic...and on top of all this...wouldnt all this spraying on buds and rinsing off make the buds way more susceptible to mold?

Its not In the instructions, it comes from doing research and hands on. Oil is oil. There won't be residue if you spray it lightly but oil is used to get a suntan in HI

Of course not, but as you said above, its an oil, its just common sense to rinse it off. If I use it I do a morning and then evening application rinsing it off within two hours after use. Luckily I haven't had to use it in a long time

Yeah but are you guys saying that you can spray it onto the buds, and then wash it off the buds? cuz I have this giant paranoia about mold... I normally never try to even let my buds get wet? Am I doing too much??lol

I'm not sure zig, I only use it during veg. my friend used it during flower but all his buds were burnt and tasted like neem... but this is the same friend as stated above

hmm i use a large handpump 3 gallon sprayer for my neem oil mix and i dont think the instructiosn said anything about rinsing off either. def dont do it in the sunlight tho. id prob only do it during veg and stop when flowering starts. but ya im still concerned about mold thats why i wont spray the buds at all with anything but handpicking trhu a huge crop is hard work and time consuming cuz those fukrs burrow into the buds and eat away. so pretty much everyone thinks just handpik the catepillars?

lol ya im like thinkin to myself the last 3 pages has been on these crazy bud sucking insects and everyone knows to use neem oil and the basics or it but no one has a theory or sumting that works during flwoering or to prevent them from eneterting the garden laying eggs and growing to the size of godzilla off our prized product

Put plants they like to eat somewhere else close by your garden to draw them away, surround your garden with netting to prevent the butterflies and moths from laying their eggs in the garden, and putting a repelling mulch down around the base of the plant. Put natural pretitors such as praying mantyses in your garden to eat any worms that get past your other defenses. Thoroughly go over your plants just after daybreak (or before work) and just before sunset (just after work...... unless you work at night....) and remove anything that looks harmful.

Im glad to get all these responses about this topic, thank you all! But I think im just gonna keep using neem during veg...and then during flowering im gonna get a shitload of praying mantis's...also ...like I said, I have faith in these lizards I see grown ones and tiny baby ones, so they must be thriving ...they just love my property for some reason....
