Bloom nutes question +rep

So my plants have started to show some pre-flowers, so i figured i would start with bloom nutes, so i went to homedepot and of course they dont have any... found a local garden store and the only thing they had was

Jack's Classic Orchid Bloom Booster (with micronutrients)

NPK= 3-9-6

now on the veg i followed the general ratio of 3-2-1 for npk and was aiming for 1-2-3 for the bloom nutes.. but this would be 1-3-2. It says right on the bottle that higher potassium is for flowering (as we all know) but why the eff do they have higher phosphate levels?

for right now this is all i can find for blooming shit around me, im going to keep searching but i know this is a realativly 'cold' nutrient supplement (with respects to burning plants) and im mixing it at full strenght as suggested on the bottle (but i have been forcing nutes into the plants since day one they are used to it)

should i try to find differnt nutes of should i just use this??? lemme know guys i don't wanna go down the wrong path for tooo long

Hey...I just double checked my Fox Farms Tiger Bloom and it's 2-8-4 - pretty darn close to your 3-9-6. They need phosphate and potassium during flowering.

If I were you...I'd just use what you have. I'm sure it will work well. I would mix it light though...and slowly build up over a few weeks. Just my 2 cents though.

I think you want higher phosphorus for your bloom nutes and slightly lower potassium. You need even less nitrogen. It sounds like what you bought will work fine. Just don't overdo it and if you don't like the results you can always switch it up. Best of luck my friend.

i use jacks classic myself, the regular not orchids, its 10 30 20. it works fine for me, should work for you.

okay man sounds good to me, i was just seeing if anyone used the 3-2-1 (veg) 1-2-3 (flowering) ratios.. yours is even higher in the phosphate ratio than mine (yours.. 1-4-2... mine 1-3-2) if fox farms has it with higher phosphate there must be a reason, that seems to be the leader in cannabis products, i mean everyone who uses it swears by it.

and like i said i have been bassicly bombarding the plants with nutes since they were even just geminated i started them on mg, becuase im dumb and had time relase stuff in my plot and have herd that if you get alot of rain you can have a huge spike in nutes so i was bassicly prepairing mine for the worst.

should i still mix lightly as these are different ratios of the elements and the plants are used to veg nutes not flowering?

i use jacks classic myself, the regular not orchids, its 10 30 20. it works fine for me, should work for you.

i thought the NPK was just a ratio, there fore the 10-30-20 would be EXACTLY the same as 3-9-6... figure for your ratio that the n (10) is really 1..making the P(3) and the k (2)... which is the same as mine of 1-3-2


im also going to be using molasses, i have throughout the grow, but kinda dwindled off a couple of weeks ago, realizing i couldn't keep the same pace and have any for the flowering cycle.

with the use of molasses (blackstrap) mess up the ratio found in the blooming nutes?

i have herd there is like sodium or sulfur or something else in it, but im guessing no nitrogen otherwise people wouldn't use it during flowering.

I'd look into making some worm tea with molasses. There are plenty of threads about it on the organics forum.

where did you get 'age old bloom'???

I got it from a hydro gardening store. There's a few in the area and they sell everything you need covering everything from organic to a full blown indoor hydro setup. Go to maps.google.com and search "hydroponic *your zip code*" ... thats how i found the store i go to. It was 13.95 for a quart.

as stated above, jacks works just fine. better than alot of that stuff out there (MG)..


have had success with it for sure. be careful on dosage. dont over feed wth jacks. hard to do but BAD if done. works for sure.

go with house and garden if you get the chance. i have never seen better results and flavor (if done corectly. ) some say its chemmy, they just aren doing it to a T.

thats the key. gotta be sure what your doing, confidit in it and REMEMBER the dosages with Jacks. it works. happy gardening!

but all in all, although even organinc food breaks down synthetically, the plant repsonds much better to it. faster and signifigant. give Hand G a shot.
