"What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.'"

god also created plutonium and uranium, and the american indians had prophesies a couple hundred years ago, about "the rock that should never be removed from the earth" but we removed it, and now we cant get rid of it,.... maybe they were thinking something like this would happen with marijuana
i'm not sure what you're getting at dude. im quoting genesis where gods telling us to use the plants he created....because he said it is good....really really good. :hump:

Or they were very superstitious without the benefit of science or nutrition (hallucinations were quite common from vitamin deficiencies).

It seems as if anymore Catholics aren't allowed to do anything "out of the ordinary" to bring themselves joy.
nigga please. have you not heard f mardi gras? that shit was invented for catholics to do anything they want before lent.

also. in may many parishes around the world the priest goes to the bar with the church goers. ive known some to even have a wife/kids/family the whole nine.

catholics are allowed many many things to allow joy. more so than most congregations.

also, it irks me that most/many people refer to catholicism as the christian church. catholicism wasnt even around until the 4th century ad therefore cannot be an extension of the primitive christian church.

catholicism is so far left for christianity it should be a sin to conjugate the two.
the god of a christian< Jehova> is the same of the people of israel to whom was give the commandment above all else and is now the law of a christian.

deuteronomy 6

4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

but im going on tangents from the original tread.

for me it is a question of how you feel. do you feel at peace with your god? and by this i mean legitimately at peace? then no it is not. do you feel the need to ask an internet forum about your convictions and then decide? well yes it is an offense to your god

now, is there a universal law for all man kind as to the nature of ingesting marijuana? that is to say is it as murder where it doesnt matter who perpetrates the crime he/she is guilty or is it on a person to person basis. of this i am not sure just yet.

Gen 1: 11-12 11 And God said, "Let the earth put forth vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, upon the earth." And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Funny...on the internet, almost nothing is believed unless it can be sourced six way to Sunday...but Religion? Absolutely true with NO verifiable source. Now that is irony.

Global warming? Reams of data to and fro, arguments being examined and turned inside out.

Absolute version of the universe and all creation? Almost the entire data compilation is by ppl we never heard of. We certainly don't know who they were. I know lots of churchers think they were the Apostles (they weren't), and I think the church likes to keep it that way.

Funny stuff.

Hey everybody im 18 and have been smoking for a little less than a year. I was just wondering do you guys think that its wrong to smoke weed and be a christian. I grew up around the whole religious stuff, private school, chruch ect. and did not like it at all so many fake people and boringness. But at this point in my life i truly believe that there is a God just not sure what to believe or even know if we can know anything about this being. But so far from things ive reasearched and experienced i think the Christian God makes the most sense to me. I read this http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/565840 and though it had some good points but idk didnt convince me at all that its completley wrong. 1. Does it glorify him not really but does it really disapoint God too. Does sitting watching tv glorify god no but it doesnt hurt anything either 2. Yes when your on cannibis your a little less in control but as long as your doing cannibis in consideration and not doing before work school and interfering with your responsibilities then your still practicing good self control i think. 3. Cannibis has never made me do anything i really didnt want to do (unlike alcohol) i can pretty much control myself only think i cant is control laughing my euphoria and sometimes the muchies but even then i can control those now. So again i dont think its a problem. 4 Question 4 brings me back to the same point its not neccisarily glorifying but doest not glorify i think. As for the damage to your body yes it is hurting your lungs but isnt eating fatty foods hurting us too why is it not a prioity to completley stop eating all body harming foods I think because its a pleasure in life that God wants us to enjoy but he still wants us to practice self control so basically dont do it all the time. If your not abusing it and not pushing others to smoke then why should it hurt others. Others may be influenced to do it by seeing you and maybe they dont have the self control to handle it but thats when you should step in and tell them cannibis isnt for them. And for the last question well yes i could live without it...but i could live without alot of things i could go live on the bare minimum not have t.v guitars so many useless things but i think again that God placed some pleasures to enjoy (within reason of corase) on this earth and that there is nothing wrong with that. So any Christians on RIU who can help me. Basically im asking this because I truly believe that there is a God and am trying to figure out how to fill this emptiness in my life. Post anything please, it doesnt matter to me im probably wrong anyway and i apologize for any spelling grammatic and many other errors sorry :bigjoint:(Oh but dont post any hater shit have a point and some logic behind your statement please ty;-))

LOL dont ask pot smokers if its bad to smoke pot

Q. What does the Bible say about smoking marijuana or pot?
A. The specific subject of marijuana is not mentioned in the Bible. However, we can draw certain conclusions based on principles found in the Bible. Let's first read the 12th chapter of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament, and then notice the last three verses:
"But, my son, be warned: there is no end of opinions ready to be expressed. Studying them can go on forever and become very exhausting! Here is my final conclusion: fear God and obey his commandments, for this is the entire duty of man. For God will judge us for everything we do, including every hidden thing, good or bad." ( Ecclesiastes 12:12-14, The Living Bible)
The answer to this question is really more of a principle and not really a black and white answer. In Exodus 20 of the Old Testament the commandments are stated. The principles needed to determine if marijuana or pot is acceptable are found in the first and sixth commandments:
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me. " and
"Thou shalt not kill. " (Exodus 20:3, 13)
God has given us life. He has created certain herbs and plants for eating and healing.
"Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things." (Genesis 9:3).
Also, Revelation 22:2:
"In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."
Not every leaf is for eating or healing though. We certainly wouldn't want to eat poison ivy for instance. We must use our head.
Which leads to another point. Our bodies are to be the temple of God. We usually think of a temple being a building. However, humans are God's temple. If someone has submitted their life to God, He will live in them. He will be their God and they will in turn be His people. The New Covenant spoken of in the Bible is a contract between a person and God to promise to live His way of life. God looks into the temple as it were, the flat part of the face in a human, and welcomes those who by their conscience and actions have been keeping themselves separate from idols, darkness, the ways of the world and Satan the devil, the god of this world (Ephesians 2:2).
"If any one destroys [or abuses] God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and that temple you are." (1Corinthians 3:17, RSV).
Also, 2Corinthians 6:16-18 :
"And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
The conscience is the key. Here we have seen what the whole duty of man is to the One God who will judge even the hidden things, good or bad, done by all humanity. In addition, there is much scientific and medical evidence concerning the negative short and long-term effects to the human body of using marijuana. A good explanation of this can be found at the following web site: www.drugabuse.gov/DrugPages/Marijuana.html

I mean this is just hillarious!

Who is quoting God!? A little dude sitting there watching it all go on and making notes?

Or was there an exclusive interview with God once he had finished?

Cracker Jax you sure have a grudge against God and stick to the topic if he says he is a christian and believes in God and not if he exist. Take that non believer stuff somewhere else man.
