thanks sooo much cowell and FireOwl, very helpful and useful
well i decided that the eletricity isn't a problem, as long as it doesn't go up like $50 or so, we leave things on all the time so it'll be hard to notice
i plan on drawing up some design plans for my box within the next couple days, so then i can get reviews and criticism and make changes before i actually build it
but there are a few more questions i have:
answer as long or short as you want, yes and no is cool with me
1. ScrOg- correct me if i'm wrong, but basically i get chicken wire/ fence and put it above the plant once it has a couple nodes and as shoots/branches go through i just pull them back through and re-position them under the wire?
2. is this more effective than LST?
3. what are the light cycles, like 24/7 when it first sprouts, then 18/6 to veg, and finally 12/12 to flower?
4. and i can manipulate these cycles(within reason) right? grow them as big (or little. . .lol) as i want and start flowering when they get to preferred size?
5. do seeds go bad?
No problem,
1. yup that's the idea as I understand it.. do some reading on it for technique as I have no idea about which node you do what to for that.. I wouldn't think chicken wire would be a good choice, but ya, like chain-link fence size holes I would think would be ok.. someone who has used a screen will hopefully chime in for you.
2. I honestly don't know... I'm going with SOG, and can't compare.
3. That will work. And yes you can mess with the timing, as long as you keep veg at 18/6 or more on. and flower is 12/12.. I haven't ever heard of anyone trying new #'s for that, if someone know's different, please point us all to the info, I'd love to read it and learn something new.
4. Kinda answered part above, you can veg forever under 18/6 or more on time of your lights. Something to note, in case you didn't know.. it's not the type of light that you veg under or flower under.. it's the amount of time of light on that determines when your plants flower. So you could keep growing and training as long as you want and switch the light time to 12/12 and you will start her into flower.
5. Yes. give em a squeeze, if they splat, then they weren't any good. If they are strong, may still be good. Give them a scratch with an emeryboard (very lightly, just to scratch the seedcoat covering) and throw em in a wet paper towel in a zip lock bag in the cupboard over your fridge.
man, i live in florida, it will be fine, my marijuana has grown beautifully in this hot and very humid climate, and im sure urs will 2
I don't know that just because something can be done that it should be done. If you can regulate your conditions to optimum conditions you will have a better yeild. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
let me know if you want any other "input".. I'm no expert, but I'm learning from my mistakes.
