I'm no good tonight. Half of me thinks 4" should be fine, the other half thinks no way. If you don't want a giant hole, you can use multiple 2" black pvc tubing entries or something. With elbows of course to trap the light.

You wnt negative pressure in your op.. but it doesn;t have to be vaccum...
And the size of the intake is relevant to the cfm not the size of the exhaust hole...
There are different cfm 6" fans...
Just open it enough to release the pressure...
ok...... slowly increase the size of your exhaust....... fresh clones? safer when lights are on is a no no...... pics always help....![]()
too much airflow is like too much light... possible but improbable...
but you can always use a speed controller on your fan... and make sort of a damn to control the size of the intake...
But I would let her rip...
The only times I have used speed controllers are when using same size intake/exhaust fan.. in order to create the negative pressure...
But all you need is a little bit..
just enough to make sure no air is escaping...
