25$ 300watt output cfl at home depot?

I was in home depot picking up replacement bulbs for my Metal Halide and i saw that they have 7$ reflectors that come with a clamp attached (which could also be used as something to hang from) and a standard socket that your avg incandescent light bulb screws into.

So i look to see the highest watt output cfl they have that will screw into the socket and they had a 300 watt output bulb which uses 68 watts. only 15$ too.

Need an extra 300 watts that you can clamp/hang anywhere? go to home depot. Need quick backup bulb, go to home depot.
im going to see if i can figure out a cheap way to rig hydroponics with the stuff they have there.

i saw that bulb. hah. its like a foot and a half long. and the thickness is like a t20 flourescent. iwonder how bright it is.
im tryna have a hydro grow also, so im waiting to see about rigging the stuff up. i was thinkin gettin a storage box, rockwell cubes a fish tank pump, etc. im a noob at hydro tho. never tried my ideas. i did make a dwc cloner before... but if u find a way to rig it up, let me know.

The 300w equiv. bulb they carry sucks, it's no brighter than their 150w because of its ridiculously large tube diameter. I have 2, and all I can say for them is they take up too much space. Oh and here they're $17.

they are all i use to grow with....i have about 15 of them. they are bright as hell. i dont know what that dude is talking about. i grew some monster bud with them and them only...

You are growing with 15 300w equivalent cfl's? Those are 4500 lumens ea 675k lumens total and you burn 975 watts.

Had you bought a 1kw hps it would put out 150k lumens, been cheaper, and been about the same power.

Dude I have one word for you. "Ebay" that shit and move on.

I'm sure you're growing nice nugs with all them, I'm just trying to show you how impractical that is lumen/watt wise. HPS would kick all their asses combined and then some.

you just totally contradicted yourself, you said the cfl setup he has puts out 675K lumens and the 1000 wat hps puts out only 150k.... plus with more lights you can cover a wider spread, have more plants, angle them at undergrowth, and either start tiny and possibly build up as you go......

anyone who blows the idea off at first glance isnt looking at the full spectrum of things, no pun intended:weed:

oh snap, then i guess the only thing they got going for them is the wider spread capability, angling, and you can put them real close w/o threatening burns..

i personally like both, in my avatar u can see my MH and cfls, i got a ghetto rig tho lol :P whatever works for now

Yea sorry it was a typo. You'd get double the lumens from one big hps was supposed to be what I was trying to point out. Instead I just pointed out I was too stoned to even notice the typo.
