if your leafs start to turn up side down u have the light too close. i always start the light hihg and work it down that way i dont shock the plant.

just wanted to share somthing i tested out with my leds so the one that are using this can try.. i was hagging my 180w 18" and was getting ok results, but 2 days ageo i moved it down to 12" and my plants and getting fatter by the day. i think these 180w should be hung around 12" IMOP.. my supper skunk realy likes this 12" thing they are budding fatter and like crazy. i have a few weeks left of flowering, and once i harvest i will post pics of my buds on a scale. so we can all see what happens.

i think your 100% right.. i have my 90w 5 inches away from the top and the auto ak x diesel hybrids are LOVING it. starting to make some really nice cheese

I was watching your exchange with beeker in his thread stating he was having issues with his led light, I think he threw in the towel to quick with his set up
Like you stated you moved the light from 18 to 12 inches away from the plants and I am woundering if he had tried the same thing if that would have helped him out?
I am still planning to try to 180 w out in the fridge, I should be ordering it in a week or so once I get the funds together
So I am very interested in how your plants turn out, I think this biggest difference is I do not have to worry about high temps where I live so I should get just as good if not better results
I am planning to use soil since I know very, very little about hydro stuff

um i couldnt realy tell you if he moved it closer if it would have been better. i would rather stay out of that deal because its none of my Business
if ur temps are good i think u can grow some killer bud. look at my grow. 95-100F, sativas. you shouldnt grow sativas indoors because they need alot of light, my hight temps will decress my yeild alot IMOP.
but do ur home work befor buying leds. look for grow logs with pics. and please dont compair any led grows to mine. because i belive these lights can do way better then my grow.
1st all thses pics are a 90w tri-ban and have nothing to do with the 180w 5-ban.
second is the heat i deal with from the summer, cant compair to mine if ur temps are good. if you have good temps you should be able to pass my grow by a long run.

I have been looking in the past couple days on this and there are a few folks using LED's and CLF's in combination and I think that is the way I am going to go
I really want to avoid using MDL or HPS something with a ballast and all that stuff to avoid the things that come along with them - heat and lots of $$$ to run them. I am only planning to have 3 or 4 plant vegging at once since I am only allowed to have 6 legally and I am going to try to stick to that for legal reasons and maybe have a mother plant or 2
The 90 return policy is very temping like you said, I have most of the stepup already and I can find a couple clones to start out with for now and see how the operation turns out, from there once I am satisfied with the results I will opt for some seeds to get a better strain going
And I completely agree about beeker's setup, he knows it better than anyone so it is his call

see i am in the same boat as you, i can only do 6 plants. the 180w is doing 4 plants right now fine at 12" but i dont think u could do 6 plants at 12" unless you kept5 them real small.
as fare as the cfl, ive heard its better and ive heard its not. ive never tried it, si i dont know for sure. but whats it going to hurt trying it, i think its worth the try.
IMOP. i think 12" and no higher is the way to go with these leds. but its all on ur grow area ur trying to cover. the higher the light the bigger the foot print but the less pentration. the lower the light the less foot print and more pentration u get. what i do is hang my light and look how much it covering. i eathier raise it or lower it untill all of my plants have light out their out side edges.

hey man lookin good, i used 2 90 w leds tri band ufo's for my last grow went good for first with leds, second time around now with the 2 90w ufos, 110 w of cfl and 120 w in 30 w blue led panels for side light just 1 day into flower right now we will see how it goes, 1 hawaiian snow 1 great white shark and 3 pineapple express, we will see how it goes seems to be more than adequeate light, i didn't think that the 2 ufo's previously used in my 1st grow didn't leave a large enough foot print for the 6 plants growing. I also have a question about height of light, what kind of difference did you see when you raised the light to 15 inches from 12?
