I had a weed grow about 6 feet tall in some sand in the bed of my pickup one time. So yes it will grow. Trouble is sand has a tendency to pack tightly as it drys out quickly. If you added organic matter (cotton seed hulls are a prime candidate or maybe some Pearlite Vermicelluite etc to make it stay loose and hold moisture) and some plant food you can grow anything you want in the stuff. Hope this helps.

Hey man, I got one just like that, I filled a pot with dirt from out the backyard, put some rocks at the bottom and I sometimes feed it with dirty water from my fish tank after I clean the filters. It does alright but like Bigwheel says it couldn't hurt to mix in some potting mix and small stones etc. to allow air pockets in the soil which in turn helps with drainage of the soil and allows the plant to stretch it's roots all around the base not just squashed in the soil like mine is. Turns out it seems to stunt growth more than anything else, If it's good weed it should grow to be good weed. Good luck man.

yep cannabis can grow in sand,it actually holds soil etc together, remeber bangledesh(literally it translates to 'land of hashish) when they had to get rid of the massive cannabis farms(laws or whatever),remember all the mud slides etc etc etc, this was caused by them removing the cannabis

you could reclaim the desert as fertile growing ground with cannabis,it grows almost ANYWHERE

i used to live 20m from daytona and i would head there constantly. no doubt someone simply tossed a seed and it grew. where he found the plant is INCREDIBLY populated even in the middle of winter. im surprised he found it before a thousand other people. having lived in FL most of my life (no longer) and knowing how people there are, the maintenance guy probably "confiscated" it
