Doing it right vs. Just doing it.

These are two plants that were of identical size three weeks ago. The larger one is mine while the smaller one belongs to my roommate. They have been cared for in completely separate ways, and show it.

They are both a strain called Blowfish and were repotted on the same night about three weeks ago. One week ago they were topped.

Plant 1 (Left)
-Large Pot
-400w MH
- Humboldt Nutrients "Oneness" System
- Oneness
- Sea Mag
- Sea Cal
- Prozyme
- Myco Madness
- Humboldt Roots
- CO2 Supplementation
- Fan on plants 24/7

Plant 2 (Right)
- Small Pot
- 6 bulb 4' T5 Fluorescent Fixture w/ 3 bloom and
3 grow tubes.
- Plain water
- No fresh air
- Small air for some circulation.

See what root room, nutes, CO2, and proper light do for your plants..?
Give them some love!

lol, the comparison in size is a huge, males are a bit bigger, not 3x the size, and ive had my biggest plants be female, ive also had small ones be male,

even if it is male, it doesnt change the fact that one that was looked after thrived while the one that was didnt recieve the nice treatment didnt do the same....

Great experiment here! I will be very interested to see the difference in yield.

The plant on the right did well considdering less watts, no nutes... the growth is stocky.

But what does "3 grow tubes" mean?

Both plants are in Foxfarm Ocean Forest, which has a lot of nutrients in it already. Both plants were topped which accounts for the bushiness. And by "grow bulbs", I do mean 4800K bulbs.
My roommate decided that a mixture of grow and bloom bulbs would provide more even lighting for vegetrative growth. I tried to explain to him that this was not sound reasoning, but I was ignored. Oh well.

Thanks for the love guys!
Glad to know this thread is making an impact.

May I ask what your thoughts are?

cool bulbs are for veg time.
warm bulbs are for flower time.
just like MH and HPS correlate, but for fluorescents.
using a mixture of 3 warm and 3 cool is like using a 200w HPS and a 200w MH for veg instead of just a 400w MH.
true, you are providing a full spectrum of lights for your plants, but you are providing less of the end of the spectrum that they really utilize for that stage of growth.

or at at least that is my experience.

What happens if I disagree with you...?

Could you convince with FACTS...?

did you document your experience?

Have you vegged with HPS vs. MH... (or even cool K vs warm K)???

How about in flower...

Have you ever flowered using MH vs HPS... (or cool vs warm sprectrum)?

..

I thoroughly DISAGREE with you, but I would LOVE for you to show me facts that support your line of thought...

If you correct me, I will have gained...

So please... indulge me...

Do share what your experience has been... and why...

:joint::peace:
