Ok folks.

Long time reader first time writer...harhar.

Soil is dead to me, time to try DWC.
Advice PLZ.

Res can be no bigger than 18 gallons.

#1 I need to use multiple cfls.
good make/model?

#2 Do I really need a slow drip with this?

#3 Whats a good air pump? I know I will be using 2 long airstones.

#4 Res will be elevated 3in off ground.
covered with mylar. and I might run fans across it if needed. anything that might help besides a chiller?

18 gal is big, you might do better to start smaller. In spite of what you hear, you do not need a drip and you do not need to hand water from the top. The key is to use lots of bubbles which means 4 12 inch airstones and a robust air pump, not a little aquarium mouse lookalike. The mist and splashing in the airspace between the water level and the bottom of the netpots will keep the rockwool and the seedling plenty watered until roots are in the water. Here is a link for a tutorial on the approach, even though it is for a bucket it still applies to a multi plant tote.

As for lights cfls are cfls. I find the best buys on Amazon and in 40 and 42 watt bulbs. Use them 2 in a large clamp reflector with a Y adapter. The t5 HO flouro tubes are looking better and better too.

He's right, no drip needed. Ive got identital genetics and less light than a buddy. I have no drip, he does and I get more grams per watt than him.

Also totally light proof your container and use hygrozyme. Root rot is a bitch, enough said.

Go for a 5 gallon at first...look up grows from mindmelted, he grows beasts from 5 gallons.
