Intake 6" fan looking for exhaust fan.. help plz

Im settin up a room, i have a 6inch intake fan that does 231cfm and im looking for a exhaust fan, im only doin a 4.5x4.5x6.5

im tryin to cheap it! i found this fan idk if it will suite my needs..

the intake tho im sure ill be runnin pretty low since its such a small room

ya guys think this will work?? and if not what ya think i should go with that would be the most cost effective

best way is to get an identical fan to match intake, and use a fan controller and put it on the intake fan at slightly less power than full. That way your exhaust will create a slight vacuum in the room and exhaust properly.

or you could move your intake fan to the exhaust side, and just use that vacuum to draw in fresh air.

but i dont know how much heat you have to contend with

The air should be replace 3 times a minute. 131x3=393

Appears you are a bit shy of the target number but don't let that deter you.

EDIT: not 3 times a minute but Once every 3 minutes. So yes, IMHO, your fan more than meets the minimum number.

huh i thought saw it in a jorge cervantes ulitimate grow video where he said you should be able to move all the air in the room once within 5 minutes..

3 times in a minute is a bit excessive i would think..

soo.. i can use my 6' 231cfm fan as intake and just run it going very low, and i should be able to use that 90cfm exhaust fan right??? Im broke n im po'

im just gonna order that 90cfm fan, ima wait till tomorrow so if im making a mistake by doing this let me know by then!! ill just run my 6" 231 cfm fan on a very low setting

Also, it is a good idea to keep a little negative pressure in the room if it is tightly sealed. This will make sure that air is also being pulled in the intake vent. Many people with small rooms change the air every minute.

OK, I'm getting a lot from this thread. I also am a first time grower, but overly educated and prepared for any situation or emergency during a grow. My question about the ventilation system in my grow box is, I'm making a fairly small grow box, about 4 plants, and a side for cloning Mother's, but when doing a passive intake, if I'm using a good fairly strong inline exhaust fan with carbon filter and speed and temp and humidity control, do I need a fan, connected to my PVC intakes. I was planning to do 2 90 degree PVC elbows and extensions for intake, one at each side of the bottom of the box, and a 6" inline silent exhaust fan with built in carbon filter, with speed control on the top of the box, pretty much dead center, or as close as possible.
Does this sound like a good plan, or do I absolutely need fans at my intake points? BTW, I will be using a combo of LED's, and CFL's for lighting? As l.ow heat and energy as possible.
