I know you are out there so pay attention.
Harvest time is here.
You may be considering taking a trip out to do a little plant poaching.
Please reconsider.
Regardless of where you find it, that plant was placed there by a grower. More than likely, the plant or plants did not just happen. A grower planned, sweated, took risks, and lovingly nurtured that plant. You have no right to it.
If you invade the property of someone to steal their plants your trespassing escalates into burglary.
There are several reasons why thievery is a bad idea:
1) We are not criminals. Our civil disobedience is not an invitation to victimize us. Do not taint our community with your actions.
2) Your actions cause misery to someone who did you no harm. Read the threads concerning members who have suffered loss at the hands of thieves.
3) Grow it yourself. Growing is not difficult; but it does require time, patience, labor, and love.
4) It is dangerous. I have suffered at the hands of thieves only once and I vowed it would never happen again. Any thief who ventures into my backyard will find himself cornered by a large dog in a maze of sticker bushes, yucca, and poison ivy; all placed deliberately. He has a doggie door so cross that fence at your own peril. It is amazing how fast that dog can make it outside when he hears the trip signals. And god help you if I catch you in my house in search of my grow room.
5) Thievery is bad for you. What you are considering is not a victimless crime. Yeah you may benefit initially, but eventually it will catch up with you. It always does. Life is funny that way.
If you are considering taking a nature walk in search on an unguarded grow, please do not do it.
