My first grow

I have started my first grow and my baby has already sprouted. The stem on her is pretty long and it's cause I used regular house lights. I'm now using CFL'S on her and the club leaves are getting smaller while the true leaves are growing . How much longer do you think will take before I transplant it into another soil mixture?
Any and all feedback is appreciated.

Here are the after CFL'S were added to the lighting. Is my stem on the sprout that big because I used reagular house Lights or is it the nutes? Like I said all help is appreciated .

PIC 3: Under CFL lighting
PIC 4: My baby's baby big stem and top
PIC 5: The true leaves are getting bigger.
PIC 6: The tall skinny stem.
What can I do to fix the tall skinny stem problem?

They are stretching because the light is too far away - bring them down to about two inches above the seedlings. Make sure to check at least once (twice is better) per day, so they don't grow up into them. When you transplant, bury the stem up to just below the first set of leaves. They'll be fine. Good luck!:peace:

I have already moved the lights closer. Thank you for the thought though. Right on for the help it is greatly appreciated. I thought it was time to transplant it but wasn't sure yet.

It can def go a lot longer in that cup. But since it's stretched out so much for light i would transplant it like he said:leaf:

Here is my baby after the transplant. Is that better now?
I hope she didn't get shocked too much. I hope she grows big and beautiful buds.

I put her on an 18/6 light cycle. My light setup includes 3 x 100W CFL.

May want to give that stem a little bit, from the pic it looks like you buried it up to its leaves ;p here are some seedlings i let sprout outside that were heavily stretching and i put some extra soil around it so roots could grow from the extra stem that was exposed before. Here is a pic hope it gives you an idea. :leaf:

Also, the CFL's are actually 28 or 26 Watt that are equivelant to 100W Incandescent. Here is a pic of my seedling room for ya to show how much light they can get at that stage. :leaf:

Right on OGKush00. Yeah you're right well the box says it's a 23W bulb = 100W. Sorry misread the box. So I have 4800 Lumens on her. Is that enough for the veg stage. I have more bulbs but I need another lamp to put the other bulbs on it. Thanks again everyone that is helping me out. I am just learning so this I helping a lot. bongsmilie

Also... there are CFL's that are better for Veg= Cool White, and CFL's for Flowering= Bright White. The different bulbs offer different light spectrums to the plant. If you plan on using CFL's throughout your grow I would look into this a bit further. :leaf:

Yes I am using miracle gro. I do plan on using CFL's throughout my grow. The CFL's I have in there now are soft white bulbs. Is that right for veg right now? Where can I find bright white CFL's at for cheap? As I'm on a small budget. What wattage range would I need for flowering?

I have a wired light system that holds 8 CFL's. What I do is use 6 regular 100Watt and 2 i think they're 120 watt Equivs. I got mine at Home Depot or Lowe's, spent about $50 bucks on lights. Up to you, if you are just playing around with your first grow than do it cheapest way possible.

I hate Miracle Gro soil unless you do not plan on adding additional nutrients, specially for a first timer. MG has auto-feeding pellets that are time release.. so if you are not careful your plant will suffer Nute burn down the road. :leaf:

The miracle grow I am using has a continuous release of nutrients. So no time release for me. Yeah $50 is sorta out of my range right now. The most I can spend on lights is maybe $20 for right now. I know it's not a lot but it's all I can afford for now.

do you plan on using any sort of nutrients? :leaf:
Maybe depending on how much she grows without my help. If I do I already have it in a spray bottle. Thanks to my mom and her green thumb not her bud green thumb. Seeing as she doesn't have one. She is a toker though so it's all balanced in the end.
