Question About Light Cycle

Hi All,

Using 24 hours of light during the vegetative cycle also creates more male plants. If you use 18 hours of light during vegetation, you'll have more females. Hope this informations was helpful.
I just read this on http://bcseeds.com/. Is this true? I have 136WATTS of 2700K CFLs on 1.5 week old feminized seedlings. Should I be worried about increasing the male ratio? After they get a bit bigger I will repot in 2 gallons and put under a 400WATT and do 118/6.

THANK YOU!

I would say so. Longer light hours can stress plants because they are not getting their necessary sleep cycle in. Causing them stress physically as well but slowing or interrupting the dark period. And we all know stress can cause herms...so I would say its possible.

I think that is a load of bullshit. Some people say 24 hours of light stresses the plant because it's unnatural, and stressing can in turn lead to hermies.

You should veg with 6500k spectrum (daylight) cfl's though...2700k are for flowering and will promote stretching. You can mix in a couple 2700k with your 6500k to balance out the spectrum a little if you want, but that isn't necessary. Just get the 6500's.

I'd flip it to 18/6. They will grow fine. Just check for hermies as they get older, but you should do that anyway with feminized seeds.
