CFL Rubbermaid, 5 Plants, BCseeds

Just made this on the weekend,
Germinated 4 more seeds waiting from them to sprout

I used the following

Rubbermaid Box ($10)
42watt Philips CFL 6500k ($12each)
42watt Philips CFL 2700k ($12each)
bulb socket converter ($3each)
22dba Silent Cooling led Silent Cooling fan ($10each)
300watt power supply ($30)

The strains are from BCseeds.com
Kali Skunk (pictured)
Ice
Upstate

I use tap water and leave it in a container for 24hours+ to remove chlorine. Can i mist the leaves already? Should i wait for the leaves to be dry before exposing to light again?

Soil was purchased at home depot... going to use coco very soon because im going to a hydroponics store.
I have a picture of the soil in attachments will it do?

In the current location the fans work very well and actually drop the temperature lower then it should. Without them on it would easily overheat in a few hours.

How are the plants looking?

Doing a grow journal now.

More Pictures

You can make any powersupply work easily with computer fans just look at the picture of the motherboard 22pin connector. Use a paper clip to connect the small hole with the green wire beside it to the black wire. Then if you plug the power supply in it will work. There is a close up on how to do it. The last picture is the little end piece of the external thermometer

Leaving your water out for 24 hours in the light can cause bacterial growth. I think you'd be better off just using tap water and PH'ing it right away. That seems to work best for me. Bacterial growth will get you off to root rot in a hurry whereas just having to adjust PH with chemicals is more tolerable for the plants.

How do i Ph the water with chemicals? Ph up and down?

That's what I do. Just make sure you PH it before you add it. Well that's with a hydro setup. After I PH it and add it, I double check the PH and then readjust if it needs it. That makes it easier on the plant I think. If you have a PH that is way off though, try to adjust it slowly if it's already in your plants. They hate rapid PH changes. Just add some PH Up or PH Down about every 4 hours to adjust it. Give the plants some time to get used to it.

This is in a reservoir you add it? Im doing a hydroponics setup once i can clone these CFL grown ones.

Yeah it would be for a hydro grow. I can't imagine that regular tap would hurt plants if they're in soil though. Not sure though, I don't do soil. But PH'ing a pool balances out chlorine so I've got to imagine that PH'ing your tap water would do the same. I'd just hate to see you get some bacteria but if it's in soil I don't think that letting it stand for a day would hurt it. Soil has bacterias anyway.

do you use regular tap water thats ph adjusted?

How long until you think the plants going to be large enough for lst?
this is my first grow although i have months of research. When should i use nutes?

Yeah. Most tap water is just good enough for using on plants. If it isn't between 5-7, then adjust accordingly.
this is true as long as you are using actual soil. If you are using a soilless medium you definately need to watch your ph and not let it get any higher than 6.2. I'm using a soilless medium and thought tap water at 7.0 was fine.... until i noticed what looked like nutrient deficincies, but it was just my ph levels were too high and locking out certain nutrients. since my ph has been corrected all my plants are perky and happy.

botanicare's line of nutrients say that you can use them starting from seedlings. check whatever nutrient line you want to use and it will tell you when to start using the nutrients. many nutrients will drop your ph a lot. I use ProGrow and Liquid Karma and it brings my filtered water from 7.0 to 5.8.

I leave my water out for days before I use it and it works great for me!

With lst on plants, in something that small i can expect upwards of 50grams a plant. Im using this box mainly to make my mother plants so i can clone and use them for a hydroponics setup. I have a secondary box is the plants do get too big and need more height.

Sprouted on the 10th of October.
Day 4
Kali skunk exploded in growth since i last saw it on Monday, its two leaves grew significantly larger and 2 more sprouted!
Out of the 4 seeds i germinated Sunday morning, one already sprouted to the surface and is growing. I mixed the seeds,
so im not sure of the strain although i think its upstate. All 3 other seeds that were germinated at the same time still have not sprouted.

I went to the hydroponics store today,
well it was awesome!
i learned a lot of good stuff and bought some GH flora nova and GH veg nutes.
Im going to buy a HPS light setup this weekend for $450. Comes with electronic ballast hps/mh / reflector+cooltube / yo-yo pullies / hps and mh bulbs too.
For now im hoping for a female plant so i can use it for clones.

I will update the progress sometime this weekend, probably Sunday.

Good news: The random sprout above is darker in color and the other 3 seeds have not even sprouted yet.
This seed is upstate and actually germinated and sprouted in 4 days. The other seeds have not sprouted.
