so ive been planning this adventure for a few weeks now, some of you have been hearing about it already. the plan was for me and 3 good friends to take the train into chicago's union station(right downtown) and walk to the shedd aquarium(massive dope fish house) then wander downtown.
so my 3 friends and i took the train into the city where we met 2 more friends who live in the city. we each took a dose right outside the station entrance and proceded to smoke a blunt walking toward lake shore drive. when we got to the aquarium 40 min and 2 blunts later(i brought MUCH northern lights) i have butterflies in my stomach and a grin on my face. there was a massive line as it was a free admission day(normally $35), there was much laughing, giggling, and looks from innocent bystanders.
the aquarium was amazing, i recomend it sober or on L. amazing jellyfish, huge sea turtles, hammerhead sharks, moray eels, beutiful live coral, SEA DRAGONS......sea dragons are the most beutiful creatures ive ever seen, hands down...look them up. it was packed full of people, too many people. it made for some awesome tense vibes if you kept reminding yourself it will be alright.
i lost my group for a couple minutes and like i said it was crowded as the fuck. i immediatly felt like a lost child. im 27 yrs old and no stranger to the city i was in yet i felt just like a small child who lost thier mother in the mall. after a couple minutes we found each other and once again we were lost in the countless huge tanks of varying aquatic life.
we were all watching this massive(hundreds of thousands of gallons) carribean reef tank that was about 35' around when lights started flashing and a womans voice said to sit down on the blue line for the reef show. we looked at the floor beneath us to find a blue line and sat down, this was obviously the place to be. we then quickly discussed amongst ourselves how we were all tripping sack when my awesome friends cassie says she brought some blotter! we all immediatly redose sitting front row at the reef show and decide to leave the aquarium before we turn into wild animals.
leaning felt cool. im in the brown with the backpack.
several blunts later we walk through millenium park. it was amazing; a huge beutiful garden with raised wooden pathways over trickling water, massive modern art sculptures(some really wierd!), every kind of person you could imagine walking around the place....near sensory overload. incredible.
giant toy t-rex with "made in china" on it.
our one sober friend expressed a desire for food and drink so we went in search of an eatery of one sort or another. while about to cross a street we realized that there was a tunnel under the street we could use....we almost got trapped in that tunnel forever. the walls in this tunnel were covered in abstract mosaics made from dime-sized shiny tiles in the most brilliant colors i could never imagine. we immediatly sat down and declared that this was where we live. im glad it wasnt a busy walkway or we would have looked quite silly with 6 of us all staring at different sections of wall although im sure we wouldnt have cared a bit.
food and drink, samantha needed food and drink. we must leave this place of wonder, damnit. mental note of location, i must return someday.
walking around downtown in search of food and drink at 4pm was absolutely insane! although were all familiar with the city and 2 of us are born natives suddinly none of us know where were going, but the hustle and bustle of the streets demand that we keep moving. this is incredibly difficult and enjoyable at the same time.
the first liquid dose i brought was really good and the second blotter my friend came with was top notch as well. everything is moving...the buildings, the cars, the people, the gum on the sidewalk, the sidewalk. we hold counsel and vote downtown sucks and decide to go to cassies house to smoke weed like its crack.
theres tons more pics. ill try to get some of them up when i get them all together. i hope you enjoyed, i sure did!
