Anyone wish we had another Clinton?

You can thank the Republican congress, and the age of excess - they created, and we're now paying for - for Clinton's success.

I hope we never see another Clinton in the white house, but many of Obama's advisers are re-circulated Clinton cronies...

Repeat: the congressional budget is in charge... not the executive branch. Who was in charge of balancing the budget at the time? The Republicans lol

And here's something else you may not have been aware of:

Clinton Library Got Funds From Abroad

Saudis Said to Have Given $10 Million

Ten percent of the cost of the $165 million Bill Clinton presidential library is said to have come from foreign individuals and governments, sources said. (By Ricky Carioti -- The Washington Post )

Bill Clinton's presidential library raised more than 10 percent of the cost of its $165 million facility from foreign sources, with the most generous overseas donation coming from Saudi Arabia, according to interviews yesterday.
The royal family of Saudi Arabia gave the Clinton facility in Little Rock about $10 million, roughly the same amount it gave toward the presidential library of George H.W. Bush, according to people directly familiar with the contributions.
The presidential campaign of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) has for months faced questions about the source of the money for her husband's presidential library. During a September debate, moderator Tim Russert asked the senator whether her husband would release a donor list. Clinton said she was sure her husband would "be happy to consider that," though the former president later declined to provide a list of donors."

Now why did the Saudis give a cool Clinton $10 Mil?

Why did they give Bush the same amount?

The funny thing is.... the best thing can happen to Obama is the same thing that happened to Clinton (no, not a BJ). Lose that majority Congress. In 2010, this should happen and a BALANCED Congress will be Obama's best chance, not of getting reelected, but doing the best by America.

Wow I had know idea so many fox news watching right wingers were on RIU. OMG If you think the Clintons are dirty just wait till the Bush administrations records are de-classified. What few are left I'm sure. Dick Fuckin Cheney is SATAN incarnate. I don't like the dems messing with my guns and I will defend my right to keep and bear my AR but health care is a must. We spend more of our GDP (16.5%) than any other country in the world. I have had cancer and been hit by a car. It fucking bankrupted me. I lost my home. I lost my $140,000 Volvo 780 truck, and a car. I filled bankruptcy on an additional 174,000 dollars in medical bills. I was nearly 380,000 dollars in debt! I don't have any insurance now! no one will cover me for less than $250 a week! WTF People need to crawl out of Glen Beck's ass and take a look at what is happening to their neighbors and others in thier community that are totally fucked. Just because you have insurance now doesn't mean you will have it if you get sick. Insurance company's are not in the biz of providing good health care. They are in the biz of taking in premiums and making as few payments out as possible. The are corporations with a bottom line to look at. Please open your eyes and take a good look around before you go in to the voting booth!

Ok let's just go with what we know now.

1 We unilaterally invaded a country that did not attack us (under the pretext of looking for weapons of mass destruction) and as a result over 4000 Americans have died on foreign soil. Did we ever find anything?

2 We torture people!!!!

3 We capture people half way around the world and hold them in prison indefinitely with out a trial.

4 The Bush admin did more to degrade the individual rights to privacy than any other administration in history. The Patriot act, fusion centers, huge budget increases to Echelon.

Those are just a few of the things I could think of right off the bat. You don't have to like it or agree with me. The rest of the world seems to. Our reputation as a country has taken a huge dive.

Why wait till their declassified???

We can just ask you!!!

You already know!!!

==============================================================================================================================

Nothing you say is anywhere near proven to be true, although it gets repeated alot.

16.5% of GDP on health care. First, we have the best health care in the world. Second, 60% of that 16.5% is spent through the govt., not the private sector. Want to cut out waste, you need look no further than the government.

Now I'm sorry you got hit by a car, but what does that have to do with tax money? That's LIFE. You want everything guaranteed? Not possible.
Cancer too... I feel bad for anyone who gets it, but the best place to get cancer is where? The GOOD OL' USA. You want someone else to pay for it? I say NO THANKS.

Now there are very quick ways to bring down the private health costs, but GUESS WHAT! Obama does NOT want to fix health care, he wants to control health care, and so do the dem's, even though most of the country does NOT like what they are hearing from Congress.

The Math is a lie....the numbers are so far off it is ridiculous. This will bury us in debt so high, we'll never get even.

You can't PUNISH ppl not yet born.... it's a heinous thing to do. That's what we are about to do though. We're about to create such an expanding debt load that future generations will CURSE our name. You can bet on that one. They will CURSE our name.

Take down the state lines for buying health insurance and watch the prices fall. Pull the dang lawyers off the doctors and watch the prices fall.

Obama doesn't want to hear these things although they WILL work, and no future generations have to be born into a lifetime of debt they didn't create.

You may pay more for some medical procedures today, but when it comes to living or dying.... you better be glad ur in the USA pal. 400000 foreigners make the trek here EVERY year to have their lives saved...... by the broken down terrible system which leads all innovation and technology globally. Latest two Nobels of Medicine... USA... USA.

I like how Jax asserts that none of these things are true.

:wall:

Proof positive that he does, in fact, live under a bridge with the rest of the trolls.

Why does the government spend so much on health care? Because they insure the oldest, sickest members of society (the ones the insurance industry WONT insure, or would charge 15,000$ per year or more for a basic policy, and that's IF they could manage to qualify for a policy in the first place). Since the inception of Medicare, the poverty rate among the elderly has dropped from 30% to around 8 %. Coincidence? No.

Opening up the insurance market across state lines would be a disaster. The insurance companies would simply locate in a state with lax consumer protection laws, and continue charging an arm and leg for their worthless product and denying coverage and claims at an exponential rate. Kind of like what already happened with the credit card companies.

"tort reform" COULD potentially save a few billion dollars per year for the GOVERNMENT, but there's no guarantee that malpractice insurers would lower their rates (after all, didn't we just see the insurance companies threaten to RAISE rates if the reform bill passes? God forbid they implement any cost controls of their own free will, like maybe cutting overhead which is currently at 30%). That means doctors would still have to charge higher fees for their services in order to afford their own insurance policies, which means they pass those costs on to the consumer.

Every President has always done something that the other side can argue about.

No one really knows what will happen after a change this big.
We do already have public hospitals that will treat you after waiting in line for hours.
My cousin had her thyroid removed (cancer) for next to nothing at one of these hospitals.
If I'd have to guess, all hospitals will more closely resemble these.
At least now you have the option of paying to cut in front of the line.

I do feel bad for people who have been screwed by the blood sucking insurance companies, but what makes you think that an extremely indebted government will be able to take care of everyone any better?

And how is the current proposed bill going to change hospitals? Other than ensuring they are actually PAID for more of their services than they currently are?

Does the government make a profit?

You do realize the insurance companies don't actually provide health care, right?
