My dank has been curing since October 4th and it still has that hay like smell. Im worrying that, that smell will not go away. IT might be starting to smell really sweet and good but I dunno. What ya think>?

How often are you burping the jars?

Did you flush them well b4 harvest?
I Flushed the plant for about 2 weeks. I burp the jars every day for 30 minutes at the most, usually just until they get dry again to the touch. Is that sufficient?

If possible try burping 3-5 times a day for 15 minutes each time. See if you can tell a difforence in smell within a few days. If you are only opening them once a day I think you are not letting them fume out enough. This is my opinion and not a fact. But still worth a shot.

shorter multiple times is what i have heard is best as well. but not all of us have that luxuary :( i burped mine for 10 minutes to an hour for a month and by the end of the month, unfortunately i'd smoked like 4 ounces, but it was starting to taste reaaaaaaal good :D

i say just keep at what you're doing :)

Use the following link, read and see if anything you have done so far differs greatly from what should be done.

If so that may be at least part of the answer and the rest might just be more time is needed.

Seems to me like you harvested too early and didnt let it ripe up.

I was seriously considering that but all of the trics were pretty much amber which is what I wanted so it can help me fall asleep. I hope harvesting to early is not the case. I could have harvested with milky trics and it should still be fine right? I mean the buds swelled up also and like I said the trics were pretty amber so i dunno gotta wait it out.

Bad advice. Paper bag dries pot fast. The goal of curing is slow, even drying. I have found paper bags useful to dry though. 3 or 4 days in a paper bag and you are ready to cure. (in a glass jar)

i have had some smell like that too. i quick dried it under a bulb. so mine was due to my neglect. yours may b a accident. it may of dried too fast. in that case it happens. but keep cureing if u wana give it a shot and maybe if it isnt too bad it will get a lil better taste.

When using paper bags to dry, How do you do it? With the bag closed or open? Getting low on herb and am thinking about drying my popcorn in paper bags, for smoking while the rest cures proper.

brown paper sandwich bags. Open on day one. Closed the other two or three days. It's done when it feels a tad crispy on the outside but is still moist on the inside.
