you gatta get the temps down bro.

all i can tell you is my rooms high temp is 77. my res temps high is about 73-75. now, i have had no problems with my grow, and this is my first dwc bucket grow. you have to think of your grow area as a enviornment. you need to contain a happy enviornment.

i use a cabinet. i use a a high cfm fan to pull heat from my cooltube out.

i use 3 comp fans to also pull in, and pull out air., pulling air out is positioned high, and pulling air in is low.

it took me a while to get this right. but now, i can pay more attention to my plants needs, and not maintaining my room temps all day. im not sure what your working with. all i know is try new things...

no changes, means no changes. got it? hoped this helped.

Yeah I know those temps are bad news. I'm pretty worried about it right now. I don't know why they're so high, I'm using CFLs!! Where do I get CP fans? I got a Lowe's right across the street, Home depot is close too, wal mart... I think I'm gonna set a fan pulling air vertically out of the top of the box, two CP fans at the bottom and one near the top. I gotta figure out a better light setup too. I have a busy day tomorrow.

Drug test in the morning, wish me luck!! (QuickFix :-D)

Hello fellow bubbleheads, my grow is cruising right along now 15 days into flower. I've used SH nutes and then topped off every other day with technaflora recipe for success. Last saturday because things were going well with technaflora I decided to use a full dose at res change. This includes BC Boost, BC Bloom, and several additives, Thrive Alive B-1 Red, Awesome Blossom, Magi-Cal, and Sugar Daddy. Since the res change it's been an intese battle with PH, res temps, and an unpleasant odor (algae?). I've done a res change 3 times this week, the last change I only used BC Boost and Bloom. The smell has diminished but my res temps are still 78F. When I change the water it's 62F 24 hours later 75F.
Questions, is that to many additives?
Could they be causing my problems?
Have any of you used Hygrozyme? If so how do you like it?
The additives stained my roots brown, looks yucky. Can they be restored to pretty white/slight pink?
Anybody use Technaflora recipe for success and had similar issues?
Link in my sig is a thread i started but haven't updated in awhile as I've been busy, take a look.
One more, does the learning curve ever end?

My advice is to go back to your original nute recipe (the one where you had everything nice and clean) and then introduce one additive at a time. Don't add 4-8 new things and expect them all to work together.

Great job! You ought to do a mini-tutorial on what you did to fix it, what worked, what didn't, etc.

I have used the recipe kit and it worked well. I would try half strength on the boost and adding 1-3tbls of hydrogen peroxide(h202) for the next res change. High amounts of nitrogen can strees roots which will never help if your having problems with them and the h202 will kill off the bad bacterial on the roots that give them that brown slime look. If possible, I use a spray bottle with ph'ed water and spray the slime off of the roots the best I can before I put them in the fresh rez. Hope this helps. any other questions feel free to ask. The roots in my sig are in the Recipe for success at full strength.

Other then not knowing what the hell I'm doing. I just added more air. and got the ph around 5.8. took like 4 rez changes. Oh and one bucket was having light bleed. took about two weeks to get them back and growing.

it seems pretty normal for roots to recover slowly. I'm just glad you got them to come around, I remember trying to help you out when the problem first started.

Weelcome to the bubbleheads, Robbie313! Diferent strains can sometime be difficult do to different flower lenth times, plant height and dif nute requirement for optimum growth. What you gonna grow. Maybe the difs can be adjusted for!

S, Yes I am lucky in more ways than I know. Air movement knock down humidity if it's not blowing over something wet.
thx,mc for the reply ,im going to have nothern lights ,afgan,an afgan/NL cross, possibility sour d ,if i dont want the nl/afgan cross,i have quite a choice ,ill probably stick with the first 3 tho

I decided to CLOSE the DIY Tutorial because of the rude hi-jacking
wierdos and invasions from crazys and wierdos and newbs and werewolfs..

Robbie,

In looking at the strain properties I'd say you can manage a NL with an afghan or an afghan/NL cross in the same res but the sour D has a lot a sativa in it and I would keep that seperate as it might get big or take longer to flower. Each strain has something called pheno which are traits that one plant has as opposed to it sister of the same kind. Sort of like kids from the same parents. One has the mothers blue eyes and one has the fathers green eyes. But they are generally manageable. Let me know what you decide and we can get you through the grow in great shape.

Hay mc are you saying as long as they are all indica, or sativas you can grow more than one variety at once with no problems? or with lil problems?

You have to match flower times pretty close for best results and a difference in mature heights have to be accounted for. There is also a concern with how a particular strain can handle nutes. Some like it hot ( high nutes) for best results and some are sissies when it comes to nutes. One example is my LSD and BF blue cheese. My LSD likes high nutes but it pretty much blew the BC out of the water. There is also a consideration of pure indica vs. crosses. What I'm saying is that it's doable but is more difficult and is best handled after you get some experience if it can be avoided. If not, we adjust like every other thing that comes our way.

I hope but doubt he goes away on his own. Seems to like the sound of his own keyboard a little too much but at least you aked in no uncertain terms. I'm not reacting to him. It serves no purpose.

I can't help but think maybe it was an inside job, someone might be poking fun at you Rose. It just seems too bad to be true. Nobody can be that dense. Or can they?
