curing and smell

so I harvested some Ak48 and Master kush about a week ago. I hung them to dry for 4 days and then put them in jars to cure. Ive smoked both strains and they are both danky but they still have this very plant/earthy smell. Is there a way to make them smell more appealing or will I just have to cure them longer to get that?

you will have to cure it longer, however i put in jars after 4-5 days then started curing and got the same earthy hay smell. but i left some drying for like 3 weeks and it smelled amazing so fruity just how it was described so i think that drying longer is the key!! HTH

so I should dry longer or cure longer? the buds seem pretty dry now but I know theres still alot of juice in the stems.

both, lol, you should put em into the jars when you can take the buds and make a stem snap when bent, so i think you need to dry longer, and you've only been curing for half a week, the dank bud smell should return in about 3 weeks of curing. i suggest you pull the buds out and let it dry some more if the stems are *juicy*, you dont want budmold/rot.

Did you trim them at all? Trimming off the sugar leaves (keep them) and just curing the buds themselves helps a lot with smell and taste after curing.

It depends on where you are drying too.I dried in a cool,un-finished part of my basement and it took about 2 weeks just to dry and now curing.

u want chronic smell it takes upto a month of drying and curing it has to break down the chloryphyl and dry out or it will always have a hgay smell
