does anyone use the cool tube? is it better then a aircooled reflector , i have a 400 watt in a 4x4x7 grow tent and its just not doing the job, im 17 days into flower and need atleast a 600 but wondering wat reflector will give me the most coverage while being cooled

I use a cool tube, but can't say if it works beter then the hood.

i use the aircooled hoods and aluminum tape around all edges. cooling 2 1000wt Metal Halides with one 440cfm fan. keeps temps lo 80s with a lil a/c. no experience with cool tubes, sorry.

If you already have the cooltube keep on using it just get the 600. The cooltube does a better job of taking the heat out than other hoods and in a 4x4 space you'll be happy you have it with the 600.

Even if you don't have a reflector on the cooltube the roof of the grow tent will be your reflector, don't sweat it.

What do you mean? I told you two great air cooled reflectors with great coverage not where to get them.... The Hydrofarm Daystar AC or the Magnum 6 inch XXXL.... read the post. Cool tubes air cool the best but not as good of light covereage

so your saying the light coverage is not good with cool tubes? when i bought my 400 from the hydroponics shop they stroked me , hell i had 300 in just the 400 watt light / air cooled reflector and switchable ballast.

What strain is this? They have a skunky fruity piney citrusy delicious smell to them. They're 6.5 weeks in flowering with the past four using super bloom. How long should I let them go if I want more of a narcotic high? the daystar ac is meant for a closet. i believe you meant the hydrofarm radiant ac this would have an optimum spread for this size room

Daystars will handle ur light better and direct more of it at ur plant, there pretty good on cooling to. I use a cooltube in my tent for the sole purpose of getting the most hieght since it only takes up the top 8 inches of the tent, this will also keep ur canopy cooler, mine works awsome for cooling too.

and digital ballasts use alot less electricity consuming componets, a magnetic has things that are constantly using power in addition to ur light, it depends on what non digital ballasts you want to compare but some use over 200 extra watts, a digital usually uses less then 50.

i went ahead and got a 1000 watt aircooled but not a cooltube

a 1000w is perfect for a 4x4 space, thats 50w/sq.ft. just hope you can keep it cool and dont loose to much height from your reflector height and the extra light to canopy space a 1000 requires.good luck
