Transplant During flowering?

Hi All,

I was curious if anyone has transplanted during the first 2 weeks of flowering? I have them in 2 gallons now and want to move them to 3 gallons.

That's a tricky one. Unless absoultly needed I would not transplant in fear of major stress or serious set back i growth time.
 
Well, if they grow 3x during flowering it will max out my height restrictions. They are still vegging now, but I was going to switch over today. Another question.. if I do wait to transplant during veg still, how long should I wait after the transplant to switch to 12/12?

If you have not went into 12/12 I would go ahead and set them in a 3-5 gallon bucket, but I would clean up all the bottom thin branches and bury her deep. Then wait at least one week if not a full 2 weeks.
She needs recover time and it's best she does it in veg. Also after transplant give her 6 hrs of darkness.
 
Transplanting if done correctly barely cause any stress. It's not really an issue. Also realize that your roots will stop growing for the most part, 3 weeks into flowering.

In hydro systems I've cut half the roots off with no ill effects at all.
 
Interesting, thank you for the link. I have them on 17/7 right now (OFF 7AM, ON 2PM). The reason for the extra hour of darkness is my temps get to be 83 or so by the end of the light cycle and they were getting droopy. Ever since switching they look great and do not get droopy anymore. So, should I transplant them RIGHT BEFORE they are to switch to the 7 HOUR OFF time? Or, should I interrupt some of the light cycle and then only give them 11 hours of total light?

Yeah I would transplant just before lights out.
Always look and listen to your garden and you will have things at there best, (seems like you are).

Transplanting can be done in a careful way, so it reduces the stress of the plant. If I use plastic, I cut the sides vertically with scissors or a sharp blade. This is when you want your fingers out of the way - heavy duty scissors/shop shears may be better.
By making 3-5 cuts more or less from one side to the other, depending on the size of the pot, and immediately put it into it's new pot, the roots will grow out, and expand the old pot, and grow into it's new space.
I have found this to be useful in avoiding shock. If the pot is clay, I just crack it , as I plant it into it's new space. It keeps the plant from having shock, and the plants don't seem to care that the old pots are still in there.
