So, I figgured out that I was flapping in the wrong place_introduce yourself_anywho, I started a thread there, stoopidly, named 1st grow since '79.

If you want to start at the beginning of this journey, you'll have to read the post and initial pictures there.:peace:

Ok. Seeds have been germinating for a bit more than 18 hours. Temp is 70°F and humidity is 100%.

I've placed a heating pad, set to low, under the box. My thinking is that, in the spring time, the ground heats which sends all kinds of kewl genetic signals. IMHO

This waiting is the killer part of the trip.

Puff anyone?

I have the seeds placed on top of a heating pad with the setting at lowest. Temperature is 68°F and it is 100% dark.

Hurry up tomorrow

11 days have past since my last post. I originally started with 12 seeds. 4 of those seeds are now in 1.5qt pots and appear to be doing well_I'll post pictures in the next day or so_the remaining 5 are still in the clear plastic 16oz bottles. I like the clear plastic because I can see the development of the roots_which is what I used to determine when to transplant into bigger pots.

I was really lucky and found some 6,500k CFL's at WalMart. Plants really seem to like the kelvin.

Pictures later.

more pictures.

You can see the input where I move Oxygen and cool air into the box and also I took the exhaust off_at the top_basically I use, thermal dynamics_the hot air escapes out the top and in doing so, it draws in cool air from the bottom.

I like using clear containers for seedlings because I can see the development of the roots and also get an idea of how much moisture is inside the container.

The lights are 24w CFL @ 6,500k. I took the hood off so it was easier to see, but if you look on the right you can see the other hood still in place.

So, off it went to the germinator for processing :)
