if you want a grow thats gonna be decent size and speed id go with at least 8, the more the better as long as you can control heat

Is 6500k the one I want to use because that's what I got and would I just put all the lights above the plant?

put the light bulb horizonatally so the entire side of the bulb is looking at the plant. Why not go with 42w, 150w equiv? And 6500k/daylight is used for vegetative(the first step) and around 2600K/soft white is used for flowering(second step)

ya you'd just put it above, but i agree id just use some 42w, it would be a lot easier, ya actually 6500k is blue for vegitation

just dont use like 4 and expect to grow anything good...
I was growing a very healthy plant under two 26w and two 15w 6500k CFLs(5000 lumens all together) and the main stalk was the diameter of a dime. i fimmed and supercropped to keep it short so thats probably a factor but 4 lights worked well for me. Roseman has a thread about CFLs and says you need a minimum of 3,000 lumens per sq. ft. and 7,000 to 10,000 is ideal.

true the more light the better, but i had only used one 23 wt daylight cfl for the vegging period and got great results for the vegging. now ofcourse iv added sum light for the flowering. pics were taken prior to flowering

When doing the veg stage would u only use the 6500k bulbs first or would u use 2700k and 6500k together? And if so can u use these light's for the veg and flower?

im using scotts potting soil mix. its my first grow so im making mistakes i know, but i dont know the ph to be honest, i water every 3 days or so and just enough to have a little run from the bottom of the pots an i havnt been giving them any food. the temps are about 65 to 70 and i dont have any control over the temps
