Harvest????

First you should know this is my first attempt to grow pot....I am an avid gardener, vegs, and flowers...but this is entirely new......

Newbie needs help I have attached a few pictures of my plant...it started out with a seed had the young plant inside until June then it went outside until early Sept....now the leaves tend to look downward and the white feathers (as I call them) on the buds are turning a soft shade of rust....would someone be kind enough to tutor me?????

Why did you bring them in? outdoors is the best for them, it depends how long the strain has bin in flower, also wether its a sativa or indica and if you want an up energetic (mostly sativa varietys) or a sleepy couch lock..

When should I harvest my plants?

The 30X and 100X lighted magnifier are tools everyone serious about harvest timing should have. They make it easy to monitor the resin development process. After seeing 400X images of resin glands, I decided to also buy the 100X magnifier. It supplies a superior view, providing an enhanced perspective of resin gland condition and development.

I recommend buying the 30X model first and if you would like to expand your analytical capabilities, buy the 100X model. They both allow for a much closer inspection of the clarity, color and condition of the resin glands, which should be swollen and unbroken while remaining transparent and slightly amber, if at all, at the peak of ripeness. Some prefer harvesting earlier, as THC degrades to more sedative cannabinoids as the glands ripen.

Harvest timing is a matter of personal preference. When the glandular trichomes are clear with very little, if any coloration, THC levels are at their peak with CBD and CBN both at levels that will not overly influence the THC with their sedative effects. Some prefer more overwhelming narcotic type effects, allowing the resin glands to cloud and begin to amber or darken to increase overall cannabinoid content. The resin glands appear and therefore will mature at different times. A compromise is made when determining the desired overall maturity level to harvest. It depends on the growers preference in effect and pal

i cant really tell how close you are 2 havest by ur pix bro.

but u cut when all them "feathers" (hairs) are brown.

Hello and thank you for your responses...to Trazzer....I brought the plants in due to the change in climate...winter is arriving here, didn't want a frost or wind to destroy them...

Firstly, the plant looks beautiful, very nice bud formation, your knowledge of plant care generally shows :-) Harvest is going to be pretty good in terms of yield.

As to when to harvest, well, we don't all harvest by trichs, I have not done so in 20 years of growing pot. If you don't have a mag glass just let her ripen right off, if you're a keen grower of fruit and veg (as I am too!) then you will know when the plant is fully ripened off but look for a very dark 'brown' overall effect and around 75% 'brown' pistils. Have a look at some pics here of plants ready for harvest too.

Pictures are not great but if she was mine I would probably harvest her now given the description you provide.
