Okay, here it is day 21 of my veg. cycle. Still looking great. Yesterday I did another drain and replenish with the same water, they had used 1 gallon of water so when I filled the res. I added another teaspoon of nutes. They grew another inch last night! The northern light in the front middle is now 12" tall. A friend came over to look at them last night, he reminded me that when he last came over, Wednesday, they were only 8" tall, they were 11" last night and now 12". Damn this system works! He's getting ready to start a grow and is thinking of how to set up his grow room etc. I just told him why would you think of doing it any other way? Look at the results so far!

So, now for the pics. I took a shot of the plants that got a little burn from flying too close to the sun. They don't seem to have been affected at all. The last shot is of the plant in the rear left, it started out as the tallest plant and is still a little lanky, but it's keeping up pretty well.

Well that's it for now, time to take the dogs for a walk.

Wow looking real good Fry.

60/40 means 60% percent of the plants genes are Indica while the other 40% is of Sativa genes. So in conclusion class; white widow not only offers a couch lock stone but it leaves you soaringly high in the head as well. I fell in love with her in the late 90's.

Fry, I but all my seeds at seedboutique.com cheaper than attitude and faster. I highly recommend them I ordered and got my seeds in a week.

Looking great Fry. Are you going to trim the lower portion of the plant to increase airflow before flower? If not I would highly recommend a canopy fan to help halt mildew buildup in the tight dense foliage.

I've got a fan in the grow room now, but as soon as I get those 5" air stone disks I ordered I'm going to put them in 5 gal buckets, 2 per. That will split things up s bunch. There's no way I'd be able to do 6 plants in one of these buckets, from what I hear and it sure seems to make sense, 3 and maybe 4 per grow is all that will fit.

But I think this is a fantastic way to get the plants started!

Yeah, they're keeping me smiling, that's for sure!

That sounds like a great strain of White Widow you're talking about there, I've got to get myself some and see what I can do with the seeds.

I'm still thinking of trying some of the old bag seeds I've got. I saved them from some great old pot I used to get around here, called Paonia Bud. It was grown in a small town called Paonia, just the other side of MacClure's pass from where I live. I've used them in several outdoor grows I used to do and it used to turn out pretty good. I'd love to see what they will do in the controlled conditions of my grow closet and in this set up. I think they'd be pretty darn good.

2 per sounds perfect per bucket that's what I am going to do with my Cheese.

Love the old skool outdoor seeds. But with your setup my man it begs for straight fem seeds that you can buy anywhere. Guaranteed Ladies Is Sweet.

If your going to veg them for that long and then move them to another system. I have heard that if the roots get tangled together getting them apart can damage the plant. I made my own bigger version of the SH system. Hopefully my girls will have enough room. Bigger tote=more water and nutes. I will be following closely, learning all that i can.

I was invited here to comment today. I came here a week ago, and saw so much mis-information, that I just did not comment. I do nnot mean to offend anyone, but
"I heard" and "they say" is usually not correct information.

You can remove up to half of the roots at one time and the plant not go into shock any, not any! It will grow the next day too.
Look, here are the tangled roots of three plants in one five gallon bucket:
:

Here they are with 75% of the roots removed, to get the male out from the two females.

This is what I removed, all in one clump, about 75% of the total roots.
The pic does not show the size of the removed roots, which is a little larger than a football.

Here is a link to this grow that I removed the males from:

A large tote is more water and more nutes and much more work. Someone much more experienced than us that could do more research determined that a 8 gallon tote with 6 gallons of water works best.
I always do three plants in one five gallon bucket and 6 plants in the 8 gallon tote, and remove the females, leaving about half of the plants. I want four females in the tank, tog et aobut 48 to 52 inches tall.

This is the grow of JonnyBtreed, an expert original Bubblehead here on RIU. He always has 4 to 6 plants in his tank. Is this what you want, or do you want LESS?

What MORE does anyone want from a 8 gallon tank???

Hey Ghost, glad to hear you got it together. You seem to be in the same position as I am, I bought the system, learned a bunch then plan to move on to bigger and better things.

I'm getting ready to put my plants into 3- 5 gal. buckets. Exactly how I'll set them up is a question for tomorrow, but I'm heading out to pick them up now. I think the SH system is great for startup, SOG would work perfect in this! But from what I've heard all of the advantage is realized in the first two weeks. So it only makes sense to me that once they are started move them to a bigger space if that's what you're looking for, and that's what I'm looking for. Later!

We all move on to bigger, that is why they call it a Starter Kit.

Sounds good, I don't see why a person can't just start in the rockwool like you say, and there goes any problems from trying to pull sprouted seeds and their roots from the damn paper towels when you've let them go too long! I'm talking from experience here.

That used to be the way I did it, thankfully I had lots of seeds from the year I didn't get the male pulled in time, I was growing way up behind the cabin when I lived on the old ranch. I used to use the plastic containers the grocery store sells sushi in, black bottom and clear top. They fit together tight and I've got a bunch of 'em.

I'll do seeds again, I can't get exactly the strains I'd like so I'll need to get into them eventually.

Hell, it's time for dinner. Later.
:peace:

I've experimented in 8 grows now, and a seed soaked for 12 to 20 hours and then put right into a soaking wet cube, that was soaked 24 hours in pH balanced water and NOT rung out, works best.

I have read the bible and have learned (sounds funny coming from a practicing Buddhist) You read, you learn, you do. Keep the ego out of it and you can learn may things.

Thanks for the love.

Why so Serious
I'm keeping it light, you gotta smile!

That's one of the things about my dogs. When I take them for a ride in my car and we're stopped at a light they always make the people stopped next to us smile. I call them my smile makers, they never fail to make me smile either! All you need is love right?

There, just finished a drain and replenish with same water. They drank a gallon so I replaced that gallon with ~1/6 dose of nutes.

I've got to remember to call SH and order more nutes!
