Man they are looking fantastic Fry.

My seeds have been soaking for 12 hours and I just soaked my cubes in distilled water. I am gonna wait about an hour to put my seeds in the cubes so any excess water can drain from the cubes. Contrary to what some say you DO NOT want a soaking soggy rockwool cube, you want it evenly moist but still sturdy and that's not my experience it's Jorge Cervantes, Ed Rosenthal and countless other marijuana botanists not named Roseman.
You're right they should be evenly moist but Roseman nevery said they should be soggy he just said he doesn't ring it out because it will fall apart.

Yeah, food, football, family, it doesn't get much better. I can't wait to see my granddaughter, it's been a month since I last saw her. And they've got my first grandson on the way too, due next January 9th! I'm psyched!

I just got off the phone with SH, ordered another 8 gal res, net pots, rockwool, hydroton, and nutes. As soon as I go to flower on the 1st I'm going to put another 6 clones in and get them going.

I'm beginning to think about nutes now. I've been seeing so many people using so many different brands I don't really know where to start. What kind do you use? What are the factors I should be looking at? I'll continue to use the SH for growing, but I'm wondering about the flowering cycle for now. I don't think I'll add any grow during the flowering cycle as Roseman is experimenting with. But I need to get up on my research on the nutes. I try to be very thorough in my research.

:peace:
Congratulations on the grandkids! I use VitaGrow nutreints because they were cheap and fit in my budget for the first grow. They work well but I would recommend a liquid nutrient. I think I'm gonna go with Advanced Nutrients for my next grow. Another good brand is General Hydroponics.

I am also interested in Advanced nutes I am going to use Technaflora nutes this run, I have asked around at local hydro shops and various forums and everyone I ask who have several different kinds of nutes says that the BC nutes by technaflora are great especially Sugar daddy in flowering and the thrive alive for cloning. I have looked at Gh and it seems simple and a few hardcore growers say that's all they use ( lucas formula).

Thanks for the note on the kids, that's what life is all about isn't it.

And the note on nutes.

Thanks for the info on nutes, I've got some research to do!

I just got my new 5" air disks, they're supposed to put out a bunch of bubbles.

I wanted to add one more pic of the stem. Actually I'm thinking this should be termed a trunk, damn near as thick as my finger and only 23 days old! these are some stout plants.

I think this does say something for bubbleponics, there may be other ways to get trunks this thick this early, but I've never heard of them!

A strong, thick stem is very important and bubbleponics does a great job providing it. Check out my stem after 6 weeks total.

Just planted my seeds in the rockwool cubes about 1 hour ago.

Fingers are crossed and waiting patiently.
:wall:

I have to go get my parts for my second 5 gal buckateer: air pump, bubble disc, and a few other odd's and end's.

Did you get my pm Fry?

Yup, that's what I'm shooting for. I don't care if there is what someone else would call a "better way". Having grown in dirt for a number of years and now seeing this I'm absolutely blown away. As I was telling my neighbor, why try anything else? What can give you better results?

Being a builder I really understand the benefit of a strond foundation.

FryingPanFlyer,

Love your journal and I will follow along. I just received my SH 400w Bubblepnics Kit like yours. The ballast was bad, so I will be held up a week or two.

Your girls look great !

Hey golddog, glad to see you dropped by, I'll be looking to hear from you. Sorry about the ballast, I think that was the first thing I checked, I heard they are bad at delivery sometimes, patience is the toughest thing to learn.

Have you read Roseman's tutorial yet, best resource I could imagine, he's been there, it's good to have the experience around.

Keep in touch, things are just starting to get interesting!

Same here with the ballast always check that 1st. My only prob with Stealth Hydro is they forgot things like my rockwool and lamp cord out of my package. Also I had some damage to a nute kit in shipping which they replaced right away. I found the customer service good and highly responsive.

FRY WHEN R U TRANSPLANTING THOSE TREES??

Getting lazy I guess. I've heard from several people to leave them, they'll do fine. I'm a little hesitant to leave them, but I don't have the nutes for three buckets right now anyway, though I did get the air disks. I ordered another 8 gal/ 6 hole res for my next batch, only $10.

I'm really waffling right now, should I or shouldn't I. I hate it when I do that.

SH forgot my 1/4" air tubing. Fortunately I use the stuff around my yard for drip irrigation. The supply line to the manifold was too big to fit on the water pump. Silicon sealant does wonders.

I'm plannin on goin all out with the connoisseur a&b and a few different bloom boosters that advanced has to offer. I've experienced in life that with average ingredients ur almost always gonna come out with average results. give ur babies the good shit.

Can't argue with that, and you've got experience with Advanced, that's good to hear. Thanks for the note.
