Can you make your own bubble hash bags?

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this forum. But I couldn't find a better one in my opinion. If i missed one that focuses on hash making only - my bad.

Basically I wanted to know if you could by silkscreens or any other filtering material - that are in different sizes or strengths of filtering. This way you could just make your own bubble hash bags and not have to pay such an extreme price for them. I hope I'm clear about what i'm asking.

Let me reiterate real quick just to make sure. I want to know if there are different size or strengths of silkscreen or any other filtering layer. I don't know how else to explain it.
Please let me know.

It does come in sizes, like 120, 180, 240. AND many people buy it and sew their own bags .

yes look online or at a craft supply shop like Micheals or something. you can even go as low as 25 micron but its expensive. i thought about just sowing them up without any other material like the I'm not effin around making hash thread to help them drain faster and you can just use canvas and silk screen for the 250 working bag the holds the trim

do you - or anyone - know what sizes the real Bubble Bags company use? Or do you guys know a website that I can find that info out? Thanks for all the help this is very useful.

I would think that someone would have made a tutorial on how to make your own by now. I guess not though - I couldn't find one.

aight i found the screens i need - as far as sizes go and everything - to make them.

does anyone know of a tutorial to make these yourself though? that would be a lot more helpful. because on the research i did - it's real hard to sew those silk screens to the nylon bag correctly.

any help or tips would be amazing.

on ebay it seems like there are more second rate companies or imitation bubble bags - then actual bubble bags (brand name). because if i buy them i want them to be the best ones available and i hear they are they BubbleBag ones.

I always been partial to buidling a frame around each screen and shaking as if panning for gold... very inexpensive..However some will argue you yield alot less this way..And i cant argue with that at all..Good luck

Hi - not sure if this has been answered yet, but i will for the purposes of future visitors.

Typically, a bubble bag kit will have about 5 bags that range from 200 microns to 20 microns.

You can start collecting the hash/residue at the 125 micron level, but it's likely to be poor quality.

The best is to start collecting at 100 microns, again at 50 microns and then the fine grade stuff from the 20 microns.

As for an alternative, a bit of a quick cheats way of doing it is freeze you dry mix, add it to a deepish bowl with ice cubes and water. Use an electric mixer (beater) for about 15 minutes and it should be bubbly and frothy by the end. You want a deep bowl with long sides to stop it from splashing and overflowing. then put in fridge and let it settle for about 30 minutes.
then go through general strainer to get rid of the bulk, then a tea strainer to do a finer filtering, then a coffee filter.

Now important point - the larger the micron rating of the coffee filter, the better. I say this on assumption that most coffee filter papers are under 50 microns. So if you can find a 40 micron or 30 micron filter paper use that. If you just get a filter which says "FINE" grade and doesn't give a micron rating, the chances are that its between 10 and 25 microns. This will still give you hash and it will be high grade, but reality is that it you will get very little volume, especially if you wind up with something that is around 15 microns.
