I enjoy writing myself, always did. Like any artist, you start with a basic form and reshape a little bit at a time and keep reshaping it till it's just right. Then someone can read it and call it trash.

I like your perspective Jax your absolutely right in theory but I'm afraid that if you don't posses a natural capacity for abstract thought then your gonna struggle badly in creative writings. Natural writing talent trumps studied writing any day. but even still, in the end, they will still call it trash, you have to sell a story with your spirit man.

Really? I used to get high marks in all of my college level creative writing courses.

I think anyone who is that interested in writing probably already possesses the capacity and imagination. No?

Of course there are many fields of technical writing as well. Think of a top editor at a newspaper. that's nuts and bolts. Or someone who writes science journals, etc.

many kinds of writings, but the foundational building blocks are the same and needed.
