Spiders? Eeeeek

I saw spiders in my house over the past few months. In order to keep them away from my plants I moved myself to the living room and opened a window in the bedroom shutting it off from the rest of the house (veg & flower room are the bedroom walk-in closet). It's about 15 or 20 degrees in there right now, but of course much warmer under the lights in the grow room.

Today I was taking clones and damed if I didn't see a spider crawling up the side of one of the planters. He's dead now of course, but how do I keep the spiders away? I already created a temperature barrier around the closet, what else can I do to make sure I don't start getting spiders in my grow room?

I know the spiders wont damage my plants while in veg, but when I put them into flower and the buds start coming in, I don't want to find a cob webb on one of my buds. I got a bag a long time ago that had spider webs in the buds, even had some kind of cacoon inside one of the buds. I don't want this happening with my buds.

+rep for good advice

Dude, spiders are great predators for lots of pests that can severely impact your garden. I once had webbing all over my grow lights and around the room that collected tons of fruit flies and other odd things that would have gotten into my garden. Just make sure they are not making webs inside your buds. Other than that, they are quite beneficial.. at least, I have never heard of them being negative.

I'm not really worried about other pests except mites. I've never seen any other kind of pest in the house & the only reason I need to be carefull about mites is the dry air.

Also that low temp barrier I have around the grow room (I have a window open in my bedroom which surrounds the closet) should be effective in keeping out pests, the temp dropped to single digits last night. So I see no benefit from having spiders.

How did you keep the spiders away from your buds? That's my only real concern anyway. Wether I have to kill em or do somethiing else to keep them away from my buds, doesn't matter to me as long as they don't screw with my girls.

do you have a fan on your plants? spiders dont seem to like wind and it blowing them around in my experience, they seem to prefer quite corners to build their webs

Thanks for the info. The site's telling me that I've given out too much rep in the last 24 hrs but as soon as I can give some more I'll +rep ya.

I do have a fan on the plants, I just didn't think of it (that spiders will avoid wind). Thanks, that's a load off my mind.
