Agree 100% with this advice - learn the basic ins and outs of growing before throwing many, many more variables into the mix.

I would put the mh's on top, keep the verticle in the middle and rund 4 t-8's around the outsides unless you wanted to run the mh's around all 4 sides. Just my two cents.

Edit- sorry, you want this all verticle don't you? It looks good execpt you might have to keep those mh's a decent distance from the sides and the t-s can be right on em, so there may some light variance.
It doesn't need to be an all vertical grow. My initial idea was to keep the MH on top, but everybody said it was not a good use of light. I thought it would be good so those top colas would be nice and big as well as the inside of the circle with the 1k hps there.

Oh cooltube, no problem then. Yea it's been hard for me to try clearing room too. My garage was full of shit stacked to the ceiling and I really want to grow in there so I've been working on it when I can. Now it's just a thin layer. I figure by the end of January it might finally be clear at the rate I'm going.
How do you feel about the new diagram? I really want to go vertical, I don't want to back down now. Im ready to work hard and learn more. How exactly would you place the 400w MH's and the T8 Flourescent panels?

If your gonna do it like that would you need to rotate the circle so each plant would get the same time around the MH's? and turn the plants a quarter turn or so so they will get the same lighting around the HPS? It just seems like the plants will be getting so much light from one side and very little on others areas.
Well the plant doesn't neccarsarily grow evenly. Could be lopsided. I have no fucking clue whats gonna happen now. Im just going to keep getting those girls bigger, and will decide soon.......

Wonderblunder, that is almost dead on to what i would do if I had the equipment or space. The only thing which would definitely be required is a platform that you could either rotate with a motor or manually on everyday or every other day basis.
Could put each plant on a lazy susan Spinner deal. A friend of mine and I built this pillar and put a lazy susan on it so you could spin it. It was a stealth grow thing that came out ridiculous. Then jut spin with no effort. This could be good. Im glad you mentioned it.

I have looked at the Roto Grows, I considered it, and then I thought about trying to convince my wife to let me drop 1500+ after all I have spent now. Looks pretty "pretty turn key" and easy to maintain/ clean. This would after all be my 3rd flat grow harvested, first with proper equipment. I can always change If need be........

Yea I have taken that approach. I would consider myself a fast learner.... Got real bored with my last flat grow(still going). I have been hearing more and more about vertical growing, and I think that it is worth a try.

Yea I like to dive right in and learn as I go. I feel pretty confident with the vertical grow technique. I would have jumped right in and done without asking these questions but, am glad I have. I think this may motivate me to get it going and try my hardest.....

I think another flat grow set up so that it can be switched might be in order? :)
I don't know? How would place my lights for a flat grow? I think my plants will be nice and big regardless..... They are looking very pretty.... Vertical seems nice because the Flo are gonna outgrow everybody........

That's exactly how I'd place it. The only thing Id' do different is I wouldn't use a cooltube because of the light loss but that's a trade off I understand.

Don't worry about rotating plants at all though, it's best to leave them stationary anyway and just concentrate the light on the best buds. The light doesn't need to be even all around, if the t8 buds are half the size of the others then so be it, it's still more bud. I've been thinking of trying turntables and talked about it before but for that to work effectively I think it would need to rotate on a hourly or so schedule like the roto grow to keep the plants always moving not just daily. In plants I've grown vertical and rotated the yield didn't improve with just daily rotation and then you just miss out on the largest buds and trade them for medium buds all around. A bad trade.

First Off, Thanks for supporting me through this grow. I will not be using a cooltube. I have all fans neccesary. I don't need to buy anything! Gonna put the plants in 5 gallon buckets tomorrow. I also have (3) 7 gallon smart pots, and trays for them.

Coco Coir or Black Gold?
(I always add earthworm castings, light guano, perlite, vermiculite)

How long should I veg once I get the bulb vertical and other lights set?
I would definitely want to veg for a a little while vertical so some of those main branches go towards the light......

I've heard good and bad things about Black Gold soil, I don't know about it personally or coco.

I use FFOF straight out of the bag. I probably should mix more into it, but I don't atm because of the hassle it's a lot of work when you're using several large bags. No problems with drainage as is and the nutrients I have been using are Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Organic which is just based on the same good stuff you're adding in manually anyway so maybe not that different. As long as black gold doesn't have too much bark in it, the rest of the stuff you're adding will turn it into something good if it's not already.

I want to try coco, as long as you select the right type and decent quality I hear it's a piece of cake and works just as well as soil, even better in some active systems like with air pumps added etc.

I think you'll reach a good size a whole lot faster than I did vegging with only a 250. Veg with all that power you have and they'll probably be trees in 5 weeks or so. Maybe less.

I generally use Roots 707, but have Blackgold on hand. I am familiar with it and have used it before. I will look and see how much bark.......... Unfortunately I do not have 5 weeks of veg time. Christmas at the latest when the switch gets flipped. May switch earlier. Im thinking that I will set up and and then veg for another week or two once the 1k is vertical........

RIU and I are having problems. Everything is FUCKED! Site is slow. When I post in someones thread it doesn't show sometimes. And best of all, my subscribed threads list, doesn't show the accurate "last post by_________", so when I post, it is in the thread, but never comes off my list, and never says I posted yet is in thread.

Finances were a little in my favor. Ended up using Black Gold on all of my indoor salsa garden, dwarf citruses, and houseplant transplant. Went with Coco Coir from Botanicare, and lots of perlite.

This god damn blueberry strain is driving my fucking nuts. Hermie after hermie. I have only gotten a few through flowering without herming. I was warned prior to germination.

Grow Room Design is coming. I think Im going to do some early chopping today, to wrap up the last run. It is becoming more and more of a hassle., The next run needs to start, so i can start a few more projects. Planning on rebuilding the veg room so the flourescents fit in there better.

Purple Kush is growing good. Getting a transplant today, along with Purple Widow clones. I am so excited about flowering my Large Purple Widow. One strange yet ugly plant, but the buds are so pretty. It is probably going to be very tall at the end..... Got some more transplanting to do today, and some chopping. There may be a purple grow in the future. Im gonna start vegging my next run out now, and if they don't get used they will be mothers.....
