hmmm according to their site it does not come with a dome. I live in a really dry place so I think I need the dome :(

You don't need a dome with these type of cloners. Cloners are also super easy to make so you may want to check out that option 2.

If you live in a humid place, you may not need the dome. No dome may be why its on sale? good luck in your search

i would go with a tray and dome = $6.00 Jiffy cubes or some other medium $12.95 there you go a cloner for $20.00 save your money spend it on some more lights or ventilation not that you need it just my opinion...

I never bought one of the cloner kits but I do have the 19inch trays with clear dome and heating matt and had no luck at all. You may find yourself that its much easier to just use solo cups with soil (if your gorwing in soil that is) I fill the cups half way with soil using premier pro mix and I moisten the soil with spray bottle which has a small dose of clonex. After moistening the soil you then take the clipping and dip in root powder and stick right in the soil then spray the inside of the cups before covering with saran wrap. This method is almost free if you already have the cups and saran wrap. Try this with a couple for free then decide. After covering with plasting I put all the cups in the same tray and put in my grow room indirectly under the lights so the light is not actually hitting any foliage yet in my cups until they catch root. ONce rooted I will tranplant into anohter cup which has been poked on bottom and sides for good drainage. My cycle is going a bit too fast as I am getting 100% now on my cuttings or I would transplant right into large pots. By transplanting into another solo cup which is full this time and keep the plant as high in the cup as I can, I can hold them back a bit from exploding in growth until I am ready for the next cycle. Take my advice and try the cups on a few and make your decision. Everyone says the kits are easy but I found that it was getting too humid while I was at work and even using the vents on top of the domes and using a fan accross the top to pull more moisture. I was ending up with rotting clones due to moisture and the rockwool was not catching root as fast as the soil. The cups for me just became much simpler and they are not rotting at all anymore. MAke sure not to try to catch root carrying too many fan leaves. The clone cant sustain too many leaves while catcing root and they will droop then turn yellow and die out on you. If this happens you may be able to carefulle snip a couple of yellow leaves and allow the rest to remain while it catches. Sorry I just wake and baked so I am rambling

I agree with both Blaze and Super. I bought an en ez-cloner 60 and have yet to plug it in. It looks nice but I find it more flexible to clone similar to above. If you want only 5 or 10 clones then it take less space than a dedicated cloner. When not in use, no wasted space. Cups are passive, don't have to power it up or worry about res temps......

I have tried most of the growing equipment out there and to be honest there is only a couple of days gained by haveing a cloner[The rapid rooter kind].A good old fasioned propagation unit is has good has anything. But it is worth spending a little money on one and getting one with vents this will mean that you can leave a small ammount of water in the bottom while the vents are closed and it will mist up giveing the leaves of the plant a chance to pull in the water on the lid.A rapid rooter is not that hard to make all you need is a tank a pump and a rotating sprinkleing head.Look how to make one on you tube it will work out alot cheeper than buying one. This will also give you the advantage of makeing it to the size of the space that you have to germanate and start plants off.

Why Buy when you can build? The one I made works great and cost next to nothing. Plus its real simple so not much can go wrong and you dont have a pump in the water heating it up. Cooler water holds more o2.
Sry I tried to post pics but riu is really shitty the last few days. I hope thy get it fixed or ill have to hang out at thc farmer. ill try again to post them later

I second that. the jiffy cube and humidity dome kit are awesome. they're cheap and they work great.

yup... any medium you want to grow in, keep them in a humid bright (but not HID direct) place for a week or so remove them from the humid environment and they will start to grow. When you see new growth or roots coming out the bottom start to harden them of in the edge of your veg room moving them closer in as they need. can't be easier. nothing to buy and nothing to power up. I'll try the cloner one day.

these are my first attempt at cuttings...

after doing some reading I do just wanna get a cheap tray and humidome, but I can't find the one I'd like. I'd like the tray to have deep plugs in it, anyone know such a product that can be purchased online?

thanks!

That makes no sense

Also, those stretched seedlings look crazy, I would transplant to a bigger pot and bury everything up to the cotyledons

Those cuttings look good! The easiest cuttings to root are usually the lowest branches with the slimmest stem, so the fact that you got those to root when they appear to be from one of the primary branches makes me think you are treating them right. Save the cash! If you need to do more than a few at a time, you might want to make your own.
