What's goin on RIU, this will be my second grow and i'm going all organic.
I will be updating frequently so feel free to subscribe and once again all input is welcome, Let's get started.

Lighting: 400 Watt HPS
Soil: Fox Farm Ocean Forest
Nutrients: General Organics by GH
Strains:
2 Fire OG
2 G-13
2 Unknown strain, but for the sake of the journal I will name it Strain X.

Let me show you what i'm working with. I've had these 2 plants vegging under 2 cfl's for almost 7 weeks i've also been low stress training them, I will be flowering em' along with the other rooted cuttings I have.

Left is Strain X, Right is G-13

I used this organic rooting gel made by earth juice, it's good stuff btw.

Now here are my cuttings. All will be going into 4 Gallon pots with a layer of rocks on the bottom for better drainage.

Fire OG

G-13

Strain X

Fox Farm Ocean Forest

Heres the General Organics Nutrient line i'm going to be using, the bio marine smells like 10 day unwashed vagina :spew:

Feel free to leave any input this is an open journal. Happy growing :leaf:

I like ocean forest out of all the ff line. it seems to be working better than the solar warrior and happy frog for me. even in pots that are way too small for the plants im supporting.

Welcome to thee second journal drella.
Something to ponder my terrorinthe805!

Sunshine mix 4 professional aggregate, your thoughts. the wise old man at the hydro store threw it at me when i asked for four bags of FFOF, which would be $100 around. this huge bale of sunshine mix, which is for sure more that four bags of FFOF, was around $50. Soiless, no nutes added, has perilite for water filtration, and you add the nutes.

My thoughts on it are every strain has different nute hunger. I will always grow more than one strain. why not i be the one to control the nutes? this time around i was planning on flushing the FFOF first so it's not as hot, but wouldn't that technically be wasting the nute in it? with the sunshine method i start off 1/4 nute, work my way up, and log the results for each strain. This control seems cost effective, and less strain on the plants= better grow/yield.

just a thought man, i know you strive for the best in your grows. just a real interesting discussion topic i think!

I don't know anything about sunshine mix, but FFOF cost only $18 dollars for a 50 pound bag that old man is over charging for it.

I don't think that flushing will remove the nutrients that are already in the soil and I wouldn't flush to begin with because all the stuff in FFOF is great shit man.

If you want to be in total control of adding nutes from the start go with the soil you were suggested or go with cocoa coir it's 100% organic and has a Nuetral PH level, i've heard many great things about it.

I don't think watering it will really use or take away any nutes in the soil. I think using straight water for the first 2 weeks once they are in the dirt allows the plants to use up the soils nutes it needs and then starting the ff line on its feeding schedule seems to fit together for me. but i don't have much to compare it to. just my .02

^^^ What he said, I would let my plants use up all the nutrients that are in the soil and then start your feeding schedule as usual.

yeah, totally wasn't try to bag on FF, just something to think about if FF was ever hot for any of your strains. i had a feeling i was getting ripped tho. if i was getting better prices i'd probably stick with FF too. it's just that with the sunshine mix, it filled eight five gallon pots and still some left. i guess what im trying to say if you were ever thinking of switching, sunshine mix 4 is the shit! FFOF is the shit too tho!

im personally gonna only do soiless from now on. i control the nutes. coco is the most eco friendly, and technically better medium than sunshine mix 4, which uses peat moss. how you been terror?

What's up marijuana420medical,
I didn't use dyna-grow long enough to notice any progress, only used it on 2 waterings. All I can say about it is that It's a 1 part solution and it's pretty easy to use.
