Just look at the main cola and think how much bud you would have lost if you had cut it off,

You can achieve similar results to topping by bending the plant once per day from the top to promote lower growth through veg.

Topping is the quickest weight loss diet you can give a plant

Some strains don't like being topped. Some top to control height. It isn't always about yeild. Do some research on different grow styles. There are a lot out there and a lot of tricks you pick up the way.

I have to disagree on this speedy, The plant in my avatar is topped, the buku loves being topped, it creates 4 big colas and not one. I don't see how thats the quickest weight loss diet.

Top your next plant and see. Indoors, your pot size and quantity of lights (i.e. lumens) dictate the yield.

Because the main cola is always the most weight, and my side branching does pretty good too.

Heres a pic of a plant that wasn't topped, it still has its main cola that weighs 1-2 oz plus all the side branching,

Oh and just to show it was no fluke, heres some other shots of different strains using the same technique.

Thats a really open ended question, depends on a lot of variables.
just wondering they look great, My best buddy sales to the local med weed shops and its always outdoor grows,I really have no idea about yield size when it comes to indoor( they look like babies compared to 6ft plants outdoor Ive grown at my buddies.

You have your growing dialed in there speedy looks good. I still get main colas and then smaller and smaller colas. I lollipop my colas to get only cola weight, as well.

My point of view is that when you top a plant, you have caused it some stress obviously, and it does slow the plant down, so you lose a little bit of growth while it recovers and figures out what the hell just happened. So you get the tops come up, maybe 4 of them or 6 or 8 or however many.

What i do is, during the vegative period, i bend the top of the plant gently, not so it snaps a stem or anything, but gently so that the top is facing completely down, then i tuck all the fan leaves in under the side branches that are coming up, it really promotes the side branches. Then all the tops are pretty much at a level height and you've achieved topping without cutting a single thing off the plant, without causing it any stress and you've still got the main cola.

I hear ya. This is why I top very early in the plants life. This way the next 6-7 weeks of veg it is vegging the new tops into a bush to keep height down. I like supercropping works very well on my kush strain that I have. Topping is a personal choice for me as I only grow one plant at a time and space is limited. I need to fill the space completely with one plant and topping and lsting into a bush helps this. Of course a prolonged veg period is required but to me its all a part of what you put into growing good bud. Of course LARGE pots and good drainage is a MUST MUST MUST as well.

you cant grow a top out and then say thats how much you lose when you top it...... if it was topped/fim'd it would have 2-8 about the same size...
