1 week into 12/12 and i have decided i made a bad choice with lights on at noon and off at midnight. could i change the cycle to on at 9 pm off at 9 am or am i asking for trouble? my reason is i'm in a cold climate and having to heat the room when it is 0 or below out will get exspensive. i should have set it up for the lights on at night and off in the day. well live and learn i guess. whats your advise? thank you.

have the plants actually started to flower?

i had a similar problem after about 3 weeks of 12/12, when the season changed quite dramatically, i decided to leave the lights off for a full day then put them into my desired light shedule of 5pm - 5am. I thought it seemed the least stressfull way to do it and had no problems.

i changed my cycle with no issues. it wasnt planned or prepared for i just did it. a few times ive had to change the cycle. i just give em there dark and turn it on whenever the time comes i want. its no big deal at all to leave em in the dark for a few more hours especially in flower extra dark will not hurt em...im not sure what effect changing a lot of times during flower would do though, but once or even 2 times aint shit...good luk

just change it. give them an extra dark cycle. they will be fine.
exactly... just turn the lights off at 9pm instead of midnight.. they will lose 3 hours of light for the day, but that's ok... then turn them on at 9am and continue w/ that cycle...

They may look kinda droopy and unhealthy at first when you turn the light on at 9am... cuz they were used to it being dark for 3 more hours...

It should adjust without any problems though...

No problem extending the lights out time for a day. Try to avoid extending on time though. Best bet is to just keep the lights off from midnight to 9pm.
