I just moved my flowering plants twice. First move was premature, but we moved them at night, turning all lights off in the house and car. It was not a very good setup and was too cold, and the house still had 3-4 weeks of work till we could move in. So after about a week, and the plants started looking REAL SAD, we brought them back in broad daylight. It turned out fine. I think you should make up their space before you move em, and the rest depends on the area you live in and how trafficed it is. It was much easier during the day, if it is safe for you.
As far as them going into shock, they handled the second move very well. Try to make sure your environment (temp ect.) is similar to where you came from. I realy think that they can sense these things.
BEST O LUCK!
