2010 OUTDOOR competition

Well all a new year has come upon us and I want to start the 2010 outdoor competition
rules are simple two categories one for sativa and one for indica /cross since quality cant be determined winner is the person with the biggest dried trimmed and cured bud weight lets go with a five plant rule also every plant must be vegged(indoor vegging ok prior to grow season) and flowered outside
i will be entering NLxSkunk in the indica and summertime budda in the sativa
as far as pictures once every 2 weeks is good as every outdoor grower knows stay away unless u have to go there tracks are bad so whos up for it
im in ontario so my season ends in nov-oct 2010 depending on frost

This looks like fun!

I might segregate my plants and do both. Can you choose your best from a larger universe? Or should the five be in a separate space?

The pictures are all of a chain link "cage" which I originally thought would provide a bit of security. It is covered with 6" x 6" remesh, six feet above the ground. Basically a super sized ScrOG.

I've grown from 3 to 9 plants in this space, having the best results with 6, in 128 square feet of raised beds.

I don't usually weigh my buds, but at a guess, this space yields between eight and twelve pounds.

What are previous bests?

One other thing...

I grow my outdoor girls in two stages. I'll planting seeds before New Years for a small Spring seed crop(Harvest before April fifteenth), after which the plants will reveg naturally. OK to do in this competition?

Well I'd be in for this but there need to be some changes to the setup of the competition. You should add a Hybrid class as well, as getting a pure indica or sativa is not always the easiest or most desired. Also, there should be more classes than just yield, could have yield, best looking, ugliest, tallest, widest, biggest single bud etc... get what I mean? Will make the contest more appealing and attract more people to participate as not everyone can go growing 5 huge plants outdoors.

All updates and claims should be backed up with pictures and a RIU "2010 outdoor"sign or something of the nature placed in the picture for extra verification.

im also in ontario so i might enter, Ive Had problems with this last years outdoor grow with my sativa choice, took way to long to start flowering and had to be cut about 4 weeks early, it was a 14 week strain too so u can imagine how minimal the bud was, almost no existant. Im deffinatly putting out my white widow strain outside again as it did well, Ive been keeping a clone mother of the white widow that i was going to put outside when spring comes around, april-may depending on climate. Ive also got an unknown Purple strain, and a strain a just recently purchased, XXX 420( Afghan x (blueberry x grapefruit)) from ontario seed bank. Growing it indoors to see what its like and im going to test it outdoors in my area Next season.

I like his idea! Especially the 'ugliest plant' catagory. That's just a good goddamned idea! Haha!

I've already got my seed for this summer. I got Green Houses Super Lemon Haze and Himalayan Gold, TH Seeds' A-Train, and Seedsmans Mama Mia and Original Skunk #1. All feminized... So goahead and pack it up, boys! You cant beat genetics like these! Haha! just kidding. This Thread should be alot of fun, come spring.
