I have about 12 plants from 12inch on down to7inches, oldest are at 5 weeks on 18/6 in veg and figure the roots have to be down there on the larger plants.

I have these in 20 oz cups..

I will not be able to finish my flower room for another 2-3 weeks..

Also is it more popular to sex and then clone or vice versa..
I was about to clone first myself

thanx for anyhelp:hump:

well first off they have long outgrown those 20 oz cups.. You need to get them into much larger pots, probably 4 or 5 gallon would be best right now. But your roots are all interconnected in the cup nd probably need help being broken up during the transplant process. Your cups are the reason why they are so small this many weeks in; i would also keep light on 24. I know they say it doesnt make a difference but i think it does.... good luck :joint:

Do not disturb your roots when transplanting!!!!!

You willl be fine in those cups for a decent amount of time. i take decent sized plants all the way through flower in 1 gallon pots all the time. it's mostly just inconvenient because you have to water more often.

Thanx man! I'm just going to cut the bottom half of the cup off and transplant the rest..l

Get bigger pots. Mine are always like rootbound after they're 3-4 in...the way I get em out is just to cut down a side of the cup and then continue across the bottom then peel the cup away.

any others with advice..These will be in 20 oz cups for a total of 8 weeks before I can flower..
I've yet to top them and there currently at 12 inches

the bigger the pot the bigger the buds.go into 1 gallon pots when u see roots poking out of the jiffy cube or rapid rooter

This doesn't even make sense. So what about all the ceiling monsters being grown in 2" neoprene sleeves over aero/hydroponics?

You want to transplant in increments. Going from a small 16oz cup to a 3gal pot is not idea. You want the roots to develope a thick mass and become almost rebound before potting up to a slightly larger pot. Go cup-1gal-3gal-5gal... ect. By the time you transplant you should be able to pull out all the soil in one large root chunk.

Clones -- I just asked some avid cloners about veg vs sexed -- they said "clone in veg, although it does work in early sexed stages too".

because of my space limitations I'm going straight from theses 20 oz cups into 3 gallon hempy buckets to flower..If I had another 4 ft T5 I would go into a 1 gallon pot prior for sure..
