Actually, it *did* start out as a VERY racist thing. Folks if you want to read some crap that will make you sick, Google "Harry J. Anslinger". And yes, one of the complaints (for real) was that marijuana "made black men look at white women in the wrong way". Was also supposedly heavily used by jazz musicians whom were (mostly) at the time (in the mid 1930s) you guessed it...black.

If there is ANYBODY's grave I would actually squat and piss on, it would be the grave of Harry Anslinger. His hate for MJ - and obviously the black folks, along with his insatiable drive to further himself in the political world was the onset of the "war against MJ".

That's not entirely accurate. President Nixon was the first to declare a "war on drugs". The just say no campaign was started largely due to the crack epidemic in the inner cities. Just say no escalated the war on drugs but it didn't start there. In fact it started way before president Nixon too.

Absolutely! Great program. They have 4 of them I think. The marijuana one is really interesting and really hits on a lot of the motives for criminalization. It paints the government in a really bad way.
