Origin of Illegal Pot!!

understand that $$ is a driving force that makes the world spin but give a fuck...im selfish cause I want mankind to be able to do what he/she wants with what nature gave us...all the wonderful extracions and medicinal properties, the fact that we could make so many goods out of it....and yet they still fail to see the light....

they fucken see the light but there are underlying forces driving against the cause....fuck em...dont legalize it...just decriminilaze it and take it off of Schedule 1...I'd be happy with that, really really happy.......

come on now no racism

Actually, it *did* start out as a VERY racist thing. Folks if you want to read some crap that will make you sick, Google "Harry J. Anslinger". And yes, one of the complaints (for real) was that marijuana "made black men look at white women in the wrong way". Was also supposedly heavily used by jazz musicians whom were (mostly) at the time (in the mid 1930s) you guessed it...black.

If there is ANYBODY's grave I would actually squat and piss on, it would be the grave of Harry Anslinger. His hate for MJ - and obviously the black folks, along with his insatiable drive to further himself in the political world was the onset of the "war against MJ".

his name wasnt "the governement guy" it was Harry J. Anslinger.. and we're all glad you decided to wake up and join us today<3

yeah it started as racist propoganda...they use to actually say that it made blacks rape white women and that it brought out the devil in others...Shit before that you use to be able to grow your of cannabis/hemp and pay bills with it...In some stated such as virginia you would go to jail if you didnt grow...what the fuck happened......yet we legalize booze...had no choice...same thing is happening with Cannabis....moonshine in the basement...Cannabis in the stealth....Gov cant make money of it so there not happy...Mexico needs to legalize all drugs fuck it particularly Cock and MJ....tooo many people are dying, absolute insanity over drugs.....take the criminal element out of it my legalizing it...Have a pound go for like 150 bucks...see if you still kill each other then....

The banning of weed was a two headed serpent. On one hand it was used in the west as a weapon against Mexican illegal immigrants, and back east, the COTTON industry was pivotal in getting hemp banned as a competitor crop.

It was politically based, as all things are. $$$$$, follow the $$$$$.

very good info and true cracker plus rep

dont forget "JUST SAY NO" from the 80's Ronald Reagons wife started the present day war on drugs
That's not entirely accurate. President Nixon was the first to declare a "war on drugs". The just say no campaign was started largely due to the crack epidemic in the inner cities. Just say no escalated the war on drugs but it didn't start there. In fact it started way before president Nixon too. :leaf:

Well someone with some apptitude. LOL. Yes that is him and no he was not the driving force. He did not think it was a problem at first and when he took all the pressure from others to do something he decided that it was in his best interests. He actually would not have done anything about it if it had been his choice. So Mostly right but not really. Don't kill the messenger. Don't hate me Trinity, I am only the messenger.........

"Harry Anslinger (1892-1975) was the first US drug czar. Anslinger was appointed to the newly created position of Commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics on August 12, 1930 and he served in the position until 1962. He had perviously served as Assistant Prohibition Commissioner in the Bureau of Prohibition. He was responsible for the introduction of the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act which criminalized cannabis in the United States."

He wasn't the driving force? He made his career on it.

Absolutely! Great program. They have 4 of them I think. The marijuana one is really interesting and really hits on a lot of the motives for criminalization. It paints the government in a really bad way. :fire:
