HELP!! Cant determine whats wrong with my plant!!PICS!!

This plant was about 4 weeks into its grow and a friend gave it to me to finish up. They plant was just transplanted before i got it but didnt seem to stress too much and kept growning. lately ive noticed some browning and curling of the top fan leaves. sooooo.... ill post some pics and ask if anyone could give me some input it would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. i HAVE read a lot of diagnosing threads and cant figure out whats really going on, im thinking it might be a combination of things.

im new on this site so heres some stuff i forgot to mention...

Soil is MG, temp is constant 70-78 F, humidity was low at like 20% but i got it to raise to 55-60% now, im only using 2 CFLs one red spectrum and one daylight spectrum... ph was on the low side but im not sure how low... my ph measuring instrument is kinda crude so im guessing its like 6.5-6.8, i know its below 7.0 just not sure how much, if anymore details are needed ill try to do my best to provide what i can, thanks again for the help!!

your containers are too small
what kind of soil are you using?
are you feeding nutes?
could be a potassium deficiency or nute burn

i wasnt, the guy i got them from said to flush the soil beacuse MG has lots of nutes and time released so i did that... maybe they just need some time to recover? but i was noticing the bottom leaves had a yellow color to them and i was reading that could be a nitrogen problem... so im just kinda confused and wanted some experienced help.

thanks for the input, i kinda thought it was nute burn but i also thought it could be more then just that from the curling, ehh?

To me it looks like the leaf fringes are standing up and that means the leaf is trying to dissipate as much moisture as possible, but it is unable to. This could be caused by toxic salt buildup, I would suggest to flush it with three times the amount of PH-ed water as of substrate in your pot. Hope this helps and remember that it is a learning experience and not to give up.

yeah ive learned, me and my buddy just went to the local hydro store and got some happy frog for our next grow... i still dont plan on giving up on this one, i just hope its able to recover without stunting its growth too much.

Hey man, you mentioned you got some new medium....
Transplant into something bigger right away, use at least an 8" pot and start using your new soil now. Eventually the MG will disapate throughout your HapFrog. Also, those cups are far too small for those plants, and with the MG having time release the soil will become more toxic...quickly! Give it a shot, you can turn those around really quickly, they arent't that bad.

Happy Frog can be used as a Medium? i got it with the understanding it was a Veg additive... hmm might try that tomorrow, i just flushed it should i wait it out?

My apologies, I was under the impression that when you said "yeah ive learned, me and my buddy just went to the local hydro store and got some happy frog for our next grow.." I just assumed that was a soil or soil less brand, not overly familiar with that name, I am loyal to pretty much one store and just use the brands they stock, but any ways, the point is, you shouldnt use MG soil any more. You need to put a new medium into new pots and transplant those cups into that, give it a moderate flush with straight pH water and let it dry out a bit and then hit it with a half dose of nutes after about 3 days without water. Make sure you arent overwatering. You can get a bale of ProMix (thats what I use) for $30 and probably have close to enough for a complete cycle of those plants. It will be the best $30 you can spend to get out of that MG soil

yeah me and him were just discussing that, its just weird his plants took to the MG and the one i have hasnt... its probably what you said about the container size and the nutes are polluting the small amount of soil in there.... if im gonna transplant them to a bigger pot should i try and free the roots of MG or just move the plant with it?

You can just move the plant with it, that's fine. The trouble with MG is the time release nutes, it is hard to try and put your plants on a nute schedule when you really don't know how much nutrient is being released already. Any slow release soil for that matter.

Does that cup have drainage holes in it? Get yourself a real pot - they're only a couple of bucks.

GOOD NEWS!! the plant is looking great, the browning on the leaves is almost completely gone, the nute burn is still visable (does that ever go away or do you just lose those leaves?) but 4 more fan leaves have now grown over the two browned and burnt ones!! thanks all for your help and ill post pics for yall a little later, for now im headed to the hardware store :)

The damaged leaves never recover. Look for results in your new growth. If those damaged leaves are still 50% green or so, I'd leave them -- they still function for the plant. They'll just never look any better.

Agreed.. with caveats. Had a great grow with MG last year. Some strains struggle in it though. Check my link for pics.
