We currently have 4 of these bulbs

We have 3 plants as you can see. How many more of these bulbs should we get? I am planning on constructing a "light board" to hold as many as we need for it to work.

if I can see that well...your package says 600 lumens....x 10 bulbs = 6000 lumens.

Good luck, I plan on doing 2 of theese 150 watters and a few 100 watt cfl

I've also read that you should get at least 50-75 watts per sq ft of grow space~ anyhow, the more light the better, you just cant have enough!

thats the lighting we have right now....we built a nice fixture to go around those and Ill try and get those pics up by tonight.

try getting the plants closer to the light, that will make them grow better and not stretch towards the light

I would for sure lower the lights as close as possible to the plants without burning them.
Being CFL's you can get them really close.

Doing so as daveg1i said, will stop them from stretching so much and keep them nice and
tight.

You should also get a fan going in there to circulate the air and keep them nice and happy.

CFL's can be used throughout the entire process for sure, but you will need to
replace the ones you have now with some CFL's in the 2700k spectrum range.
And switch to 12/12 lighting cycle.

Also, the globes you have are 14Watt and are actually quite low for what you want.
"dont pay any attention to the equivalents" they display on the packaging.
You can pickup true 45W CFL's at almost any place
such as Home Depot etc. Depending where you live of course.

Best of luck with your grow, do plenty of reading "This forum is full of great information".

I wouldn't be feeding them with plant food each water. Over fert and you risk burning and stressing the plants. They should be biggee than they are.

unless its really hot in that room for some reason a fan shouldnt be neccesary for ventalation seeing as how flourecent lighting is extremely low heat, and also thats looks like a pretty big closet. and the bulbs your using now probably arent going to be very effective if ur planning on having 8 plants in ther. check out your local hydroponics store and u can usually find fairly priced high wattage cfl grow light of about a 100 bucks. and although u can use regular flourecents for better results i wuld use one with a blue spectrum for the vegatative stage and red for the flowering stage

Right on man, You know what they say variety is the spice of life. A lot people switch to different lights when the go into flowering. I was just wondering:joint:

hey man just a thought but if you put a "Y" adapter on each end of those light sockets you can have 24 light bulbs instead of 12. The walmart by me sells 3 packs of 26 watt cfls both 6500k and 2700k for like 7 bucks. They put out about 1700 lumens each so with 24 that would be 40800 lumens. You will get some nice yield with that much. Peace.
