Mosaic Virus - Do I scrap everything after this grow is done?

After posting pics of these symptoms and never finding out anything difinitive (while ignoring some pics on problem faqs bc they told me what i didnt want to hear) I am pretty sure that my plants have a mosaic virus. I don't know how because they came from seed and I hadn't used tools that were used for other plants, don't use any tobacco products etc. But, I can't come up with any other explanation. This really sucks b/c I like the strain I've got and really dont want to trash everything and start over only to have the same thing happen again b/c I have to assume that it's out in my yard etc.

Have any of you dealt with this before? Any tips? What could the virus be resting on that I would have to sterilize? What kills it (not in the plant but on surfaces etc. Here are some pics.

Thanks, that's what I've thought the whole time but after 4 months of seeing these symptoms on multiple plants I have yet to see an adult thrip or larvae, and with a microscope I can't find any of the feces they are supposed to leave behind. I've got buku sticky pads, yellow and blue and still no thrips - just fungus gnats.

Btw, the little speck on that leave in my pic is a piece of peat.

I do value your opinion as does everyone else here but I just can't see any thrips and for it to be on every plant you'd think that I'd have them swarming and getting stuck on my traps even if by chance???

In regards to a fogger, here's my dilema. In one room I have two tents, one small one with clones (most of those pics) and a larger one that is 4 weeks into flower. I have some forggers but wouldn't they put out too much for that little tent? And is it too late to do it in the big one? Should I just open up the front of both tents, leave all the fans / exhaust going and put one fogger in the middle of the room?

Again, I really hesitate to do that because I have found no other evidence of thrips????????????????

i use a pair of small scissors and clip off the locking tab on the fogger. now you can just spray a little. :)

i have thrips outside. they don't do a whole lot of damage. looks just like that though. i never see the actual bug. they are tiny.

Have you at least seen all that waste they talk about and show in the pic? I have poured over these things with a magnifying glass and taken many leaves off and checked out witht he mic and still nothing? That's why I looked at this virus thing. It just seems that no matter what I do all the plants have some or many leaves with that coloring and they never look up to their potential. Would you spray the ones in flower too?

I found an ag site where they talked about a ddutch grenhouse grower (not mj) who uses one potted garlic plant per 300 sq feet to keep them away. Sounds easy enough? I wonder if powder would work until I could get that going. Also thinking aobut getting some lizards to put in there (immature anoles or geckos for some natural control.

no, i never see the bugs or the poo. i use foggers and they go away though. i try not to use them after the 4th or 5th week of flowering. :blsmoke:

i use mine during the dark, mid cycle. i shut everything down, all fans, and lightly fog the whole room. i set a timer for an hour. after an hour i turn all the fans back on.

Did the fogger yesterday and didnt even need to cut anything off, just hold it down far enough to spray but not lock in place.

I am still suspicious though - I had this same thing on my last grow minus the actual disappearance of leaf matter and it really did look like an infection of some sort. I mean, how can they just eat and eat without leaving any excrement?

I'm not saying that you don't have thrips, but when I've had them (twice) I've seen them. Also, the white speckling is a finer dot (& in a collective) vs what you have in the pics. The speckling can also have a silvery appearance depending on the angle/light. The poop is a clear black dotting, when infestation is severe. I've found them as collectives on the tops of the leaves. Anywho... my vote is that you have several micro deficiencies showing along with some minor P (pic 3). My vote would be for Calcium as they are contorting. Spotting may be from pH issues, which could also bring you micro's into whack. I'd check the pH's (feed vs run-off) to appx what's going on in the medium... maybe it is a once in a while issue. Balanced, properly pH'd, nute feed... maybe increase frequency w current levels, or up it a little. Peace.

BTW, i've never seen nor known anyone who has had the mosaic virus. I have had deficiencies pop up just as your pics though. Peace.

Grohi, thanks for the input. It's happening on pretty much every plant so I've got a lot of leaves to check for feces - and none so far. It looks like both to me (mosaic and thrips.) But the deficiencies are a possibility since I have never given them full strength food. Even the one's in flower, I'm so scared of not being able to correct a big mistake in all that dirt. I will check one's ph tomorrow and see. There are definitely other problems going on with these plants but I am really just trying to keep them alive for the next round and haven't given them the love they deserve - mainly b/c they were so great for a while.

The pic is one that I pulled up in an image search from another sites problem faq. Looks just like it no?

That's not mosaic virus. Can't say for sure about the thrips, but that's not mosaic. Viruses affect only the tissure between the veins.

So I also have this. Its on a Razzelberry (possibly Grape Kush) that I got from a Denver Colorado dispensary. I am on my second batch and the first went fine (maybe below par but not disastrous) and this batch looks GREAT so don't freak out. According to Annon @ http://www.growery.org/forums/showfl.../Number/190149 this is TMV and its common in Holland but I never trust any single forum response (sorry Annon nothing personal). If it is TMV its has not spread to my Strawberry cough this round and did not spread to the Durban last round (even thou the moms were kept together and the plants are sharing a tray).

This is a double post but now that I see you used the tests I'll re-post here

I am POSITIVE it is not caused by Ph, ppm, temp, humidity, nutrients, lights or thrips since I have not had any of those issues and still have these deformed leaves.

So, if its not environment its either a disease or genetic.
I am was almost convinced its TMV until I heard about the test results so now I think its genetics.
If you have ever had this type of growth please tell me what strain it was on.
