I usually start giving my plants 1/4 strength at start of week 3, than 1/2 at start of week 4 than week 5 it goes to full nute strength. i havent been seeing many problems, one of my last plants got a mag def, but i gave some epsom salt and now she is fine just has yellowing leaves but no more new ones.

The reason i am wondering is becuase i belive the sooner you can give them some atleast, the more vigorous they will grow( if kept at a reasonable rate). I have 3 plants flowering right now that i started this regimen on and they all preflowered within 4 weeks of life, and had buds forming by 1 week of flowering and now at the end of 3 weeks start of the 4th i have one plant the the buds are enormous already( the one that had the mag def astonishingly) and the other 2 are doing very nice one is staying small and bushey and the other tall and more spaced out. all the same strain of bag seed. i know bad to do but it was great bud and i didnt have any cash lol.
so waht im saying is what is all your opinions on when to start giving nutes?:leaf:

yeah, i was always told around three or four weeks from seed, and the same thing like you said, just start it off low, and slowly increase the dosage till they are getting full strength... but saying that, i think its better to let the plant let you know when she is getting hungry.. it will become pretty obvious.. growth will slow, and the color won't look as green and healthy, and it will just look like she needs some food.. it's kinda hard to say to start exactly on this day or that one as each strain is different as is each growier and thier mediums and whatever else.. like some soils may contain more nutes in them then others may, so they may not need to be fed as soon as say a soild without any or lesser nutes..

that is very true i never really put much thought to that the soil we use has some in it already so it would take a little longer. and yea you can never say this day or that day is when i am, it always changes. as you said though around 3-4 weeks you start them off and sparingly increase intill its at full strength. lets see how the poll goes and see what people think when you should start. hopefully this will help others also.

I know without a doubt that there is a "genereal" term of 1-4 weeks before starting a initiation feeding with pure organic commercial soil and commercial synthetic(nute) added soil. It all depends on how hot the compost/ organics or synthetic ferts are in the soil. I know that you can actually visually read the plants to see what they might be lacking. I used to stick with a regimin when I was a noob, now I stick with feeding when hungry and a little bit of micros and bene. bacteria. Just my opinion.

yea it seems to be the ususal that i have been doing already just seeing what they are lacking and giving to to them as i see such and from that i know what they will like:) each strain is always differnt though its always a bitch starting a new one but you gotta love the end results:)
