Elecrical safety question

Hi Currently I have a couple of CFL's running alongside a 250watt HPS. I only recently added the HPS to provide some good quality light whilst they recover from transplantation. The problem is that the HPS system is relatively close to the CFL's and it's producing a lot of heat. Is this going to cause damage to the CFL's or pose a fire risk?

I wouldn't think the bulbs themselves wouldn't be an issue at all as they are glass but the sockets would worry me, Can you keep hold the socket in your hand? I would think if its cool enough to hold in your hand then it shouldn't be hot enough to ignite or melt. Being a stoner I would be paranoid though so I feel yah
