^^^^ just saw that,
Truckn - How are those clay pellets treating your system? I just posted under "couple of hydro questions" if you want to read the whole deal, but basically the hydroton seems to be messing up my whole system. It's dirty - leaving grit everywhere and coloring the water. Am I missing something or is this just a really dirty medium?

In answer to your post - I'm running my first hydro ebb and flow w/ hydoton on Anvanced Nutrient's Micro, Grow, and Bloom at about 1/2 label strength at first because my vegging plants are small, have experienced some heavy stress lately, and because they were yellowing at full label strength for veg state. I'll post how it goes as it goes..

Yea you're missing something.

You are supposed to rinse all hdyroton thoroughly before using it by poking holes in the bag and running a hose through it and shaking it around and then rinsing it more before you actually use it or it is common knowledge it will leave residue all over. It should be common sense when you open the bag, would you put perlite in there? no its all dusty.

I run Floranova in my ebb and flow, and it works pretty well all of my plants are healthy with no burn or rot. I'm not flooding hydro rocks though got an organic hydroponic potting mix I flood very frequently.

Im goin to start in ebb and flow system whats best nutes to start with im useing clay pebbles and perlite i reckon, also whats best way to start off in ebb and flow how long till i put them on the system from germination, basically i dont know how to start off best, shall i put a seed in rockwool cubes 1st then into clay pellets after how long. And shall i go streight into the size pot il be harvesting in or work upto a big pot, anyhelp appeciated im stressin, theres to many ways to do things lol
