Why would you resurrect such an old topic to post a meaningless response? The last post in this topic was almost 2 years ago. I'm sure the dude has figured out how to use his system by now.
ok guys.. need help from any aeroflow users PLEASE.... set up my brand new GH aeroflow 60 following directions perfectly, but for some reason it is leaking where the manifolds meet the spray lines.. in that elbow connection. It has the rubber ring inside and was tightened well, but still leaks ..anyone experience similar probs?... Other than that, it works great and I can see how my babies are gonna love it!... they're dying to get planted in there!!..thx in advance

Man, is this an old thread! Just keep adjusting your connectors on the AF.

It may be an old thread, but it's just what I was looking for! I just set up a double Aeroflow 60 (120 sites). It's my first hydro-grow. Yes, it's ambitious, but so am I. Hopefully all of that physics & chemistry from college will come in handy. My question is about measuring nutrients. The reservoirs are 40 gallons, but the tubes hold a lot of water as well. The total capacity at the high-water stage for babies is nearly 64 gallons. The low-water stage for more mature plants is about 46 gallons. When I start it, it will pump up into the tubes, and then I have to add more water to the reservoirs to keep the pump intake submerged. I don't know what line on the res is the '40-gal' mark, and don't know how to get an exact measurement on the additional water I add. So am I measuring nutrients for the reservoir, or the whole system? How important is it to be exact with the food? Thanks in advance.
I know it's been months, and you've probably solved your issue, but I'll offer this up. If it's a threaded elbow, use a toothbrush to get it very clean, and use teflon tape. If that doesn't work, and you don't plan on unthreading it soon, try tub/tile caulk. It can be removed fairly easily for disassembly. If it's not a threaded connection, use the two-part pvc glue. It's for potable water systems, so safe. There's a purple primer, and a cement. I had to build a couple of parts to get my two systems to run end-to-end since I have a long skinny space, and was able to solve each of my leak issues with one of these approaches.
