Hey guys i am newby at growing... I have some nice plants in my garden and i would like to clone them so i can keep reproducing them... I have taken about 20 cutting off of my plants and have had zero success in getting them to root. Any info that could help me to get my clones to root would be greatly appreciated

Best thing to do is get the "Seemorebuds" videos he goes into cloning very well.
Also you should tell us what you did to clone the 20 step by step including PH of the water you were using.

ok the first thing i did was i cliped the plant 3 nodes down and my cutting were about 6 inches in length. I then stripped the bottom leaves to expose some fresh green of the stalk. then i trimmed all the big leaves but left the leaves at the top alone... I dipped my clones ito the water that has a ph of 7.5 and then place them into a bcuzz rooting plug and placed them on a lizard pad which holds a temperature of 75-85 degress. 21 days later stilll no roots

how high did you keep your humidity and did you keep wetting the rooting plug?

i just grab any branch, cut at 45 degrees, dip in some rooting gel, shove into a moist peat pellet and pop it into a heated propogator. i then find i have to dunk the peat pellets in a bowl of luke-warm ph'ed water for a second or two and pop back in the prop

clones like a PH of 5.0-5.5 never give any marijuana plant 7.5 PH who in the world told you 7.5? That might be one of the main problems you have.

Were these the plugs?

Did you use any rooting gel? Is there something between the heat mat and tray? Clones need to be in a humidity dome for the first 5 days, do you have one of those? Do you spray the clones with PH'd water a few times a day?

Ahh I see, well yes its actually between 5.0-6.0 a lot will say but 5.0-5.5 would be ideal. And get a humidity dome if you dont have one yet, when using it spray the inside of the walls of the dome too (it helps). The dome should be on for no less then 5 days. If you dont use rooting gel either you should try, it gives a greater success rate then just using the plugs. The best piece of advice would be to get at least vol.1 of Seemorebuds videos. Those vids will tell you everything you need to know plus so so much more. He's very respected on this site (also a mod :-P)

.

I'll have to try ph'd water next time in my bubbler to see if I can get faster rooting - but I see roots in less than 2 days sometimes. Sometimes. I've always used water straight from the tap with chlorine and all - everything I've read by experts says this for bubbler cloners. The chlorine is suppose to help keep bacteria out of the cut and scarifications. Since the plant isn't uptaking any nutrients with a bubbler anything from 5-8 is suppose to be OK.

I know next to nothing about rockwool and the ph required and always assumed it was the same. Interesting.

ok thanks guys will try a humidity dome as well any suggestions on a certain type of rooting hormone the plugs are supposed to be infused with it but they arent working but its probably the ph like you said... Is the dome suppose to help the leaves from transpiring and drying out to fast? I aslo place them under flourescent lights becuse thats what was suggested to me by a buddy he said the metal halide would be to much for the clones any suggestions on lighting for them?

I use juicy Roots, never had any complaints using it with rockwool and coco. :blsmoke:
